RE: Cheap International Calls (PAYG, No PrePay, use at work, home or mobile!)

Well, I have given more bargains or advice here than you have done, so don`t come here and say I haven`t contributed.

I never said that you were ripping people off - ok!

If people want to use the numbers that you provided fine, but it is my right to provide something else that is equal to those you gave, NO ONE READING THIS THREAD LOSES OUT by going to just-dial website as it is the company that created this system.

RE: Cheap International Calls (PAYG, No PrePay, use at work, home or mobile!)

A big F to you!!!

what is your problem "diverse"!!!

I just informed that everyone can get the exact same deal and rates, without using these numbers!!!

RE: Cheap International Calls (PAYG, No PrePay, use at work, home or mobile!)

That sounds to me like diverse is being an agent for www.just-dial.com, don`t let diverse benefit from you guys, just visit the site to get all the rates and use the normal 08707940000 or the others at the site :D

PS2 for £99.99!

Carphone is selling black PS2`s for £100.

I reckon it is the old version with G chassis, while the new one has H chassi.

I suggest you call sales and find out. I would get one if it wasn`t for that I`m going to HK for 2 years soon, so it is no point for me.

RE: Stop whatever DVD rental company you are currently using........

screenselect.co.uk - A londonbased dvd rental company (featured in BBC Working Lunch) has over 12.500 titles and they have only one price option for unlimited rental and that is 3dvds for £14.99 per month. £3-5 cheaper than the competitors and 7500 titles more than nearest competitor.

RE: Sainsburys sells TV and DVD combi for under £100

I bought the Lodos yesterday and I am very happy with it as a bedroom tv/dvd.
I can also confirm that it is multi-region and it can read reg 1,2,3,0.
Superb price considering that basically get a multi-reg dvd that also decodes dts and dolby digital through the digital output, for another £25-£30 compared with a normal 14inch tv with fastext.

It has also a zoom out function that makes the picture smaller as well as the normal zoom in function. And the drive is very quiet. The remote is a bit long but at least it is quite easy to understand.

RE: HMV Sale starting soon, some today!

HMV has changed their returns policy in June to just exchange for another product, they have removed the money back.

First they had 60 days return I think, then down to 21 days return, and now only exchange policy.

They are really getting bad now.

RE: Friends boxsets 1 to 6 for 17.99 each at splash

You can find it from www.dvdsoon.com where I got it. I got it for around 16.5 each, however that was a while ago. The prices now are below and differs depending on series, and also the pound has weakened substantially against Canadian dollars.

dvdsoon.com (obs all prices in CAD)

Season 1 - $40.98
Season 2 - $40.98
Season 3 - $48.98
Season 4 - $47.98
Season 5 - $42.98

standard shipping free

Amazon.ca also has some good prices.

Season 1 - 34.49
Season 2 - 34.49
Season 3 - 41.24
Season 4 - 41.24
Season 5 - 38.49

standard shipping - $4.49 + $2.49 per item
expedited shipping - $7.99 + $2.49 per item

Coupon for amazon.ca
Expires: 12/31/2003
Discount: $10 Minimum Purchase: $50
Coupon: CANADATELUSM

But beware that amazon is more likely to get caught in the custom as they print the real value of the order, compared with e.g. dvdsoon.

RE: Plasma Screen

bous,

Just to let you know that the plasma they advertise is an outgouing model 42PF9965, it has been replaced with 42PF9965 which has incorporated pixel plus as well (although it is too new to be discussed and tested)

Also if you want the best plasmas at the current market for a good price according to members at www.avforums.com (there are huge info on the UK plasmas) and all electronics mags, then you should choose either

Hitachi PMA400E - only £2499 at richer sounds.
With a internal box

Hitachi PD3000 - £3014 at electricaldiscountuk.co.uk (very good general retailer) or better £3231 at the superb specialist nexnix.co.uk (however, I don`t think they price match)
Same plasma but with an external multimedia box.

Both Hitachis have according to plasma owners at avforums absolutely stunning picture. The only disadvantage if you now can even notice the difference (members can`t see the difference after tests) is the ALIS screen technology. ALIS is a interlaced screen so it converts a prog scan signal from a e.g. DVD player, resize it and converts it to an interlaced. The 400 version really has a superb price now.

Pioneer PDP-433MXE - £3411 at again superb nexnix.co.uk
Half of avforums plasma members thinks Pioneer gets a better picture than Hitachi, with incredible details. Hitachi probably has a better black level. It is considered more future proof than Hitach and it can take real prog scan signals, also it is a 43 inch = 1 extra inch. By thew way Pioneer is realeasing a update version in the autumn in the states with real future proofing and assuming better picture, so perhaps it will be replaced here in winter or beginning of next year.

Panasonic TH-42PW6B £TBA
Very new, but 1 have bought and 1 have viewed it and they say it is a stunning plasma, at the top with Hitach and Pioneer. But be sure that many more will buy it soon.

This is a very small summary, but you will find plenty of information on the avforums to base your decision.

Pls let me know if u need more info. Have fun hunting.

RE: Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness... which ones to get?

Here is a link where they discuss the MGM region3 version vs others, and it is so much better than any Anchor Bay ones.

http://www.deadites.net/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=1;t=217;st=0

It can still be bought at www.cd-wow.com.hk for $167. Unfortunately the sterling has weakened against HK dollar so it will cost a bit more now, but if you still don`t have any Army of Darkness, this is worth every pound it cost over the anchor bay.

RE: Two Towers - Platinium Edition

I have also ordered several times with no problems, the latest was the Friends box sets for £16.50 each and it came within 4 business days.

I checked the dvdsoon preorder on two towers when Clayt put out the message and from what I can remember it has always $37.98.

RE: Help: £750 - £1000 Digital Home Cinema Setup Recommendations

Hi Big Adam,

I think on the home cinema mags you can now see Richersounds advertising the legendary Mission FS2-AV NXT (the flat panels can be had in silver and they are not too big either and they sound stunning, just check all the opinions at avforums.com, I myself have the mission FS1`s )speakers for only £300!!!, so get a copy and bring it in to the shop. Otherwise the excellent 5star rated Elac Cinema 1/2 (very small silver satellites and again lots of very positive owners at avforums.com) can sometimes be found for around £325 on the Internet.
Small and good speaker packages under £300 are very difficult to find.

And for receiver, I would suggest the real Yamaha RX-V430RDS in titanium (not 5540RDS which doesn`t has as good remote) with 2yr warranty and superb service from www.hifijunkies.co.uk for only £220. They do price match but no one else sells that the titanium version, so I wouldn`t think they would price match e.g. the 5540 version.

Otherwise Richersounds sells the 5540 version for £180, £20 cheaper than www.superfi.co.uk

Other silver brands are only Sony and Pioneer I would think (Marantz, Denon comes in goldish/gold). Sony 585S/685S and Pioneer 711S are other receivers but they don`t have as many sound modes as the Yamaha, however I don`t know about their connection capabilities compared with the Yamaha. I do know that it is a superb receiver and it has also won many awards.

RE: Free £1 voucher for CD-Wow

andydd, is it the same as this link? I have ordered twice on this one and I just checked it is still working.

http://www.cd-wow.com/promotion.php?promo_refcode=12020_1&id=95487-23704-30792-63013-54453

RE: Spirited Away

£13.99 for region1 at cd-wow with the £1 voucher.

RE: Disney films for 6.99

Don`t forget that there is a £1 off voucher on this forum as well, which makes Toy Story 2 only £5.99 ;p

RE: d a b radio req !

mickymcd2,
perhaps Richersounds have some pure evoke left, also for £100. If you have a left over amplifier and speakers, you can get superb DAB Tuners from richersounds as well.

RE: Gamecube INSTOCK at Colchester!

That`s the one I returned on Saturday morning, as my friend didn`t want it.

RE: Blockbuster - free DVD rentals,

PorlCooper, could it be Forrest Gump?

RE: LG Lifestyle Dual Tuner Teletext TV - Only 30 left £99

There are 65 in stock again, no rush to get one.

RE: can any 1 recomend a sub £100 dvd multi reg

skronk in bargain buckets has said that his local sainsbury`s is selling Mico diamante multireg for £59. Obviously it is not known whether it is nationally but if you can find it, then it is a superb buy. I am of Chinese origin and know quite a lot about Chinese brands and Mico is absolutely among the best Chinese brands, which makes this machine a absolute steal. But if you feel that another £40 is not much, then Pioneer 350 or Toshiba 220 are superb buys as well. It depends on your wallet and if you are building a whole system, the total budget.

RE: Official Gamecube Controllers - £12.87 In Dixons

If you guys have freeloader,£12.99 at play, dvdcrave.com.au has Super smash bros melee for around £17"

Apologies for this.

RE: Official Gamecube Controllers - £12.87 In Dixons

Wedge C, Colchester branch has quite a few Wavebirds with the discounted price. The discount offer seems to vary in different shops, e.g. in London, the more central stores hikes up the prices so the price including discount is the price what would be without a discount.

In the colchester branch, the wavebirds cost £29.98 so with the discount the price is around £24, and that seems to differ from what Pistol got if for.

A bit off track but they also had a couple of games such as 2 copies of FIFA2003 and 1 Super Monkey Ball for £25 that seems impossible to track in London, not that I bought any.

If you guys have freeloader,£12.99 at play, dvdcrave.com.au has Super smash bros melee for around £17.

RE: Bargain home cinema systems

Richersounds are selling Limit DAVS400 for £120, and the DVD player in this package is the LimitDVD8070 and cost £80 alone, so I think it is a excellent package. I haven`t listened to it but you should definitely go and have a look at one of their stores.

RE: Official Gamecube Controllers - £12.87 In Dixons

Yippie, I got the controllers for £12.87 in the Colchester branch where I live.

This item was edited on Saturday, 22nd March 2003, 16:01

RE: bargains from Amazon.ca

Guys, do u know if the vouchers can be used again and again for the same account? Or is the system clever enough to say that I have already used it once before, therefore not valid? Thanks.

RE: Official Gamecube Controllers - £12.87 In Dixons

Stevewxm, which Dixons did u see that price? Because I went to the Dixons store on oxford street last sunday and they had a bluecross sale on Gamecube accss and the price was what u mentioned, when I went there again yesterday, the price had gone up again to £15.98. Dixons in moorgate (london-city) where I work, the price is £15.98 with a 20% discount.

RE: Best Home Cinema Setup for my room layout, requirements and budget?

Just to let you know that the Aego-P5 is £400 at superfi.co.uk. The Yamaha is a good receiver indeed, it is based on the famous 430, but it has a slightly different remote. Otherwise there are also plenty of nice all-in-one systems.

The famous Sony DAVS-550 needs no introduction - multiple awards winner, region2 can be had for £300 at richersounds stores or £350 for multireg

The excellent Pioneer DCS-303 System (dpl-II,multireg,dts, nice design, excellent sound, multiple test winner) can be found for £290-£310 at many websites, eg. homecinemaheaven.com, webelectricals.co.uk,leconcepts.com, dvdplayers.co.uk, discountaudiovision.co.uk, pantheronline.com.

But if connections for the future is very important as well as superb sound, then Yamaha is the way to go. But if design is very important then the systems above should looked at, the sound of Sony and Pioneer are actually very good. If you can live without DPL-II but have a superb sound then Aego-P5.
