Works out at £18.24 for standard delivery or £18.67 for the expedited option. Release date is 18 November.

Was it just me, or was the Fellowship extended edition available from DVD Soon for under £15 when it was first available on pre-order, around this time last year?

Anyways, here's the link:

Yes, I remember Clayts posting a link to it. I think the price went up soon after that though.

I don`t know where dvdsoon (and some other sites) got
the picture from, but the official artwork shows the cover
as being red. Look.....

They have a reputation for being slow, but I got Harry Potter 2 before release date, so maybe they`re getting better. I`ve ordered several times from them in the past, and never had too much of a wait.

The red artwork was obtained from a reliable source. Put it this way - red is definitely on the cards come November. :)

I have also ordered several times with no problems, the latest was the Friends box sets for £16.50 each and it came within 4 business days.

I checked the dvdsoon preorder on two towers when Clayt put out the message and from what I can remember it has always $37.98.

Shame it`s R1 though... I`d prefer R2/R4. Anyone know if anywhere will have a similar pre-order price for R2/4?

Yes, I know I`m being fussy, but I like PAL...

I bought the R2 version of The Fellowship Extended Edition
and I can`t fault it for picture quality.
Then my mate brought over his copy of the R1.
Beleive me, there is very little difference in the picture quality.
The sound , on the other hand, is much superior on the R1 version.
I did quite a few back to back tests with the two regions and found
the audio on the R1 to be much clearer and the placement of the
sound effects to be more distinct.
I am now going to sell my R2 and am going to get the R1.
One other thing, the box itself.
If you have only seen the R2 then you are missing out. Granted, it
looks similar to the R1 but it is so flimsy. I will tell you this now,
the R1 version is worth getting for the packaging alone. You can
drive a JCB over it and it won`t buckle (slight exaggeration there)!
Pistol,
don`t hold out for the R2/R4. You won`t notice much difference in
the picture quality if you get R1 and you won`t get any sound problems
caused by the pitch correction due to the 4% pal speed-up.

I must add that I didn`t notice any problems with the sound on the
R2 untill I compared it to the R1.
