Having been the victim of a drink driver, and left with permanent problems from the accident, then my opinion is an obvious yes.

Furthermore, I think anybody who is 4 times over the legal limit and driving, should receive an instant lifetime ban.

`Organ donors` is an oft used term, within the emergency services, to describe bikers. I personally have had several accidents, all caused by dumb cagers, in the usual `SMIDSY` scenario.

No matter how well you think you can ride, treat every other road user as a potential threat, and ride defensively, not like a twat!

Do you have, or can you borrow a fibreglass pen? Use it to scratch through the plastic film, exposing a small section of the copper track, and just solder directly to it. Remember to use small touches of the solder and iron, so as not to transfer too much heat to the surrounding area.
If you do melt more of the plastic, just apply a non-conductive paint to stop any shorts. I find that clear nail polish is very good for this.

With regard to the number of connections to be made; just take your time, patience is the key, and double check your connections before soldering.

Tricky. Remaking joints on plastic ribbon cables is nigh on impossible. I have done it in the past, but that was by bridging each connection with standard wire, but in your case, this would be no good, as it would stop the case from fastening.

The only thing I can think of suggesting, is to add a small layer of solder to the circuit board connections, and then simply glue the plastic portions of the ribbon to the board, hopefully leaving the solder connections clear and connecting. This would not be perfect, and may give intermittent connection on some of the pads.

Sorry, s`all I can think of, without actually seeing the unit.

Mr Tookey, having just read your article, may I just say........ grow up!
If you air your salacious opinions in such a public forum as a national newspaper, then surely you must prepare yourself for the backlash.

I know nothing of this film, beyond the trailers that have been shown on TV, however, by branding a film, `a paedophiles dream`, you are immediately going to tar anybody that has seen and enjoyed this film, with that brush. That in turn, is seriously going to annoy people, as most, I`m sure, would not like to be referred to in such a manner.

Then you start crying about internet bullying, and you can understand how it feels to be bullied for being fat or gay etc?

I`m sorry, but I`m 40 years old, I have raised two mixed-race sons and two white step-daughters, believe me, you know nothing of bullying. You are simply using this whole furore, which I might add, is of your own fabrication, to shamelessly promote yourself and your wares.

Oh, and by the way, attacking people for having poor spelling and grammar is low, very low, and again, shows a certain character trait inherent in a bully.

I agree. The trouble is, and my wife confirms this, that a lot of the newer health visitors thought that they were taking the easier option, by getting out of the hospitals and into the community.
This is not the case, as my wife now has to manage a team of nursery nurses, assistants, book and manage interpreters, and organise group meetings. She also has the social care aspect to deal with, whereby any child that is ill or in danger has to be reported to the correct authorities, with correct note taking and reports to track and substantiate these reports and claims.
There is also the danger of going into a possible violent situation, and believe me, where my wife works, this is a very real everyday possibility.
On top of all this, she has to use her car for her job, and is not adequately recompensed for the wear and tear and use of fuel etc. :(

Oh, and don`t get me started on having to pay to be a registered nurse thing........ >:(

With regard to the whole animosity towards HV`s, if they are like the experience of the OP, then I can fully understand, and believe me, I know first hand what they are like.

However, certainly in the case of my wife, they are fully qualified health professionals, and in my wife`s case, has put in the time working on a special baby care unit, weaning new born babies off heroin etc, only to have to give the poor little buggers back to their smackhead parents.
She wanted to become a health visitor, so that all that good work that is done at the hospital, is not undone as soon as `those` parents take their latest `cash cow` home!

I agree that some health visitors are jaded and disinterested in their job, but you could also fire that sentiment at a lot of others employed within the NHS; doctors, nurses, consultants and managers.
The only way that this kind of `attitude` problem can be dealt with is to file a complaint with the appropriate PCT.

Oh, btw, all health visitors are also fully qualified nurses.

My wife has been a health visitor for nearly five years now, and sadly, she says, an unprofessional and uncaring attitude is not uncommon, but totally unacceptable.

However, saying that, this oversteps the mark by a very wide margin. You must report her immediately for a) the incident with the head circumference, and b) handing out homemade, unsubstantiated material, which is definitely not the policy of any NHS PCT.

You are also well within your rights to refuse her entry, and request that a different health visitor attend in future.

Sorry, that`s not quite right.

The CBT will allow you to ride a bike/scooter up to 125cc, however, until you have passed a full test, you are legally obliged to show L plates front and rear, and you are not allowed to carry a pillion.

Yes, they are different, and you must sit one relevant to the licence you are testing for.

Just to clarify things a bit....

You MUST have a current CBT to ride a bike on the road, assuming you only have a provisional bike licence. This applies to anything up to and including 125cc.
This CBT must be re-taken every 2 years, assuming you have not passed your full bike test.

If you only wish to ride a 49cc permanently, you only need sit the CBT once, assuming you have a full car licence.

The full bike licences are A, A1 and A2. An A1 full licence will allow you to ride any bike up to 125cc only, an A2 licence is for automatic (scooter) bikes, and this is restricted to 33bhp for two years, and an A licence will allow you to ride a manually geared bike with a maximum power output of no more than 33bhp for two years. After the two years, you can ride anything.

Hope this helps, as it`s probably the longest post I`ve ever put on here.

No,no, just the internal components to the stereo. The stereo would blow internally, and should not affect any other electrical system in the car.

**EDIT**

Although, if the smoothing capacitors in the stereo blow, there will be a very unpleasant smell that may make you think there is more damage occurring.
