Try the BK chicken-salad instead (skip the dressing if you wanna go low-fat).
That is actually VERY tasty :)

RE: Your Scariest Childhood film???????????

Actually, 2001: A Space Odyssey.. that scene in the end when he sees himself grow older and older REALLY freaked me when I saw it at around the age of 10.

RE: formating old hard drive help please!!!!

I`m glad it worked out! :)

Are you using two different operating systems on the computer? Like Windows 98 and Windows XP?
I`m guessing no, and if I`m correct you could have deleted the FAT and NTSF partitions within the installer and created a new, single (and larger) partition.

Do you now have two harddrives in Windows Explorer? One called C: and one called D:? How large are C: and D:?

RE: formating old hard drive help please!!!!

Did you first check if the CD booted by itself (or showed the text "Press any key to boot from CD")?

If you did and it didn`t boot and have to change the BIOS settings, this is how to do it;

When the PC boots up and shows the very first screen, keep an eye out for text similar to this: "Press <> to enter BIOS". Press that button! It`s usually Delete or one of the Function-keys (F1, F2 etc.).
You will then enter the BIOS-settings instead of starting up Windows.

**This is where very advanced settings for the computer are changed and you should NOT change anything you do not know exactly what it will do.**

As there are many different BIOS`s I can`t tell you exactly how to do this, only the general approach on how to do it.

What you`ll be looking for is something called Boot order or Boot sequence.
Go through the different menus/pages looking for this. The BIOS should give you proper instructions on how to navigate through it.

The boot-list tells the computer in which order to check devices for bootable software (like Operating Systems (Windows) and Installation Discs). What you need is to tell it to check the CD-ROM before checking the harddrive.

There are three main variations of the boot-list, looking along the ways of this (so you know what you are looking for):

Single box variation
Looks like:
[C, D, E]

Change/Cycle through the entry so that the drive-letter assigned to your CD-ROM (usually D) comes before C.

Enable/Disable variation
Looks like:
[CD-ROM/DVD Disabled]
[Primary IDE/HDD Enabled]

Change the CD-ROM entry to Enabled.

Listing variation
Looks like:
[Primary IDE/HDD]
[CD-ROM/DVD]

Change the Primary IDE/HDD entry to CD-ROM/DVD and vice versa.

After you have changed it accordingly you need to find a button called Exit and save settings.
The computer will then restart and if the Windows XP CD is in the drive it should start that instead of regular Windows.

Tell me if there`s anything that needs further explanation or if you get stuck somewhere :)

RE: formating old hard drive help please!!!!

If you aren`t presented with a Windows XP-installation menu, or the text "Press any key to boot from CD" you need to enable booting from CD in the BIOS.

If you don`t know how to enable that, post here and me or someone else can guide you through it :)

Also, you should format the hdd with NTFS file format. That will give you a little additional speed in windows :)

RE: DVD Import- Refunds

Yeah.. their email support blows so hard I can`t keep my hat on..
But yeah, they are cheap and you should keep an eye out if they have the item you`re buying in stock or not. If it`s in stock they`ll post it very fast, but if it isn`t it`ll take days and weeks and months :p

RE: Where do you go to pitch a TV programe idea?

I know there are fairs for this kind of thing where TV executives walk around and ppl have booths and pitch their ideas and the networks can buy them. I don`t know what they are called and where you might find more info though.. :(

RE: OK...The X-Files or Twin Peaks?

Get them both! :D

Twin Peaks only has two seasons (one out on DVD aws), and X-Files like 10. So if you can afford to buy the whole series of X-Files, you can surely find the extra bucks to get Twin Peaks as well :)
Especially if you keep an eye out on Play`s bargain-section where I found it at £17.99 a couple of month ago (and it`ll surely pop up there again).

RE: So, how many DVDs have you bought this year?

According to DVD Profiler, 89.
I`ll probably end up a bit over a hundred when the year finishes. :)

Edit: Counting the ones in my Ordered list makes is 95. :)
Re-edit: Now the total is up to 102! (curse all the bargains and my weak mind! I can`t afford this! :D )

RE: Automatic Bidding Software

How do you mean "auto-bidding"..?

RE: How do I resize an NTFS partition in XP

What version of Partition Magic were you using?

I`m pretty sure I`ve done this with PM 7.0, but can`t check as I don`t have it installed atm.

RE: Undelivered item from CD-WOW

I live in Sweden and when my first shipment got stopped by customs I mailed them about it. They told me to scan and email or fax the receipts to them. I did and was given a full refund of the custom-charges.

Two more shipments have been picked up (out of around 70) and I repeated the procedure above and was given a full refund within days both times.

I haven't seen any "advertising" about this refund, but according to the reply I got it`s a part of their policy.

I`ve asked CD-WOW about this as well, and they told me if a shipment were ever to be picked up by customs they`d happily offer a refund. But as they put stickers over the value it`s much less likely to happen than to shipments from Play.

RE: Cube 2 - the hyper cube

Quote:
saw this a wile ago, enjoyed it. not rubbish, not exellent. average. not as good as no.1 but more gory (i think) and better ending. didnt like 1st films ending

Yeah the ending in the first wasn`t all that good either, but still 100 times better than in the second IMHO.
And as far as I remember, the second was much less gory..

RE: Undelivered item from CD-WOW

Quote:
NO

NOT SURE ABOUT THIS

Play.com no longer offering refunds on custom taxes..?

RE: Cube 2 - the hyper cube

I really liked the first one due to its originality, but found the second one, Hypercube, really appalling.

It`s generally the same thing once again, but with really bad special effects and NO story. I felt as the script had been written as they went along shooting it.
And the ending felt as the writers didn`t know what happened really so they just threw something together and applied a "twist" so they audience wouldn`t boo at the screen but simply be quiet in total puzzlement instead.

I just laughed at the whole thing and later cried over 1.5 hrs pretty much totally "wasted" :D

Edit: The Cube was a very nice original film that should have been left alone from greedy money-making franchisers.

On a grand scale, the WTC attacks are the most shocking event we will EVER witness. Nothing sould be as worse. Lets` not make this a comparison thread, let`s just remember the worst disaster of our times and spare a thought for those who loved and lost and suffered

neal:Quote:
Westy, I think the people of Nagasaki and Hiroshima would disagree with you somewhat.

neal, I agree with you totally.
I don`t know what Westy means by "our times", but believe me, there are plenty of people still alive that witnessed the events above.
Sure, the WTC-attacks were horrible, no one is arguing on that point, but please put it in proper perspective.
Remember that the US-led forces killed more innocent people in Afghanistan than people slain in the WTC-attacks. Sure, the reasons were different, but the result the same.

Good then we can plant our own seeds, America is at War people seem to forget that.

This mentality really makes me disappointed as it proves America hasn't learned anything in its just over 200 years of existence.
Sure 200 years isn't a high age for a country, but with all the wars they have waged, you'd think they would have learnt something. But sadly, it seems they havn't.

It sparked some conversation today for sure, but the horrible fact is that it took one mans sick mind just 3 hours to kill 2700 people in a morning of total disbelief.

Not to be disrespectful of the dead, but over 30.000 people die every single day of starvation and lack of medicine.
That is over 3750 people over a three hour period.
