RE: Unlocking mobile phones

Try here
http://www.mowtrad.com/Unlock_Cable/Samsung_Unlocking_Kit/samsung_unlocking_kit.html

or go to http://www.123unlock.co.uk/ and follow the links through first for Samsung Unlocking, then for T100.

Might be cheaper to go down the market, and see if you can find someone to do it for you.

RE: www.filmsfirst.net

It`s mostly been said by everyone else, to summarise yet again :-

1. Free postage
2. Quick processing & packing
3. Accurate Order tracking
4. Charge credit card on dispatch
5. In Stock/Out of Stock - and some indication of how long before back in stock on the web site
6. Good customer service - respond to emails/phone calls without long queues.
7. Decent cover scan on web site
8. more info on each DVD than you currently show - look at Play for instance - need review, list of special features, certificate, screen format, language, sound track format, duration.
9. Can you stock Region 1 DVD`s too ?
10. Princing naturally - if your not competetive you won`t get any orders !
11. For me get rid of that scroll bar on the site, and use the one on the browser.
12. Change colour scheme on the multi-page selection at the bottom of a page. It`s nearly impossible to tell whether you`re on page 1, 2, 3 etc by looking.
13. Some form of one click purchase - where you keep a profile of delivery details and credit card information - secure naturally.

I wish to add good luck too. There`s plenty of competition out there.

RE: Sorry It`s not DVD But........

Don`t get a cheap Karcher - mine and my neighbours both broke with exactly the same fault. Didn`t last more than a year.
If you get a Karcher, make sure it`s at least a 300 series or better. They start getting expensive then. I replaced mine wiuth a Draper - much more powerful too. On offer at simplygardeningtools.co.uk :-

RE: PS2 info needed.

Play.com sell the DVD Advantage pack for £11.99 delivered.
In stock at the moment - I`ve just checked.
I see Amazon are doing it for £11.99 also, but you need to add postage (which is presumably where your £15 comes from).

RE: Firewalls and Computer security........

I use Sygate Personal Firewall. It`s supposed to be better than Zone Alarm in some respects. Like Zone Alarm it`s free too.

www.sygate.com

Sygate also provide a test facility that will probe your ports etc.

Checking the logs, I`ve found I`ve been pinged from Malaysia, so I`m, quite happy to have a firewall. It`s more important with a broadband connection, as it`s always on - so whenever your PC is power up your connected to the internet. You`ve alos got a semi-permanent (it does change, just not too often) IP Address.

A firewall is useful for the other direction too - it will protect rogue programs from talking OUT to the internet. If you`ve got a trojan horse or spyware, or whatever that`s trying to phone home with all you passwords, then the firewall will stop it.

RE: Anyone else collect swords?

Depends if you mean your Apache gunship or not :)

RE: Should i move to NTL

Kebabhead

I and everyone else I know with NTL broadband have a separate cable modem. I personally have not and never have had a digi box.

My own scenario went like this :-

1. Had analogue TV from NTL
2. Restricted analogue TV to absolute basic package & got Sky Digital
3. Ordered and had installed a cable modem
4. Whilst waiting for cable modem to be installed I cancelled NTL analogue cable tv.

So now I have Telephone and cable modem only. NTL were very clear (when asked) when I ordered my cable modem at the beginning of the year that I did not have to have digital TV from them. I too had been told this by a friend who has both because that is what he was told.

It is not a new policy - I`ve had a cable modem for the best part of the year now.

RE: Should i move to NTL

That`s just not true.
I`ve got the Phone and a 128K cable modem. That`s all.
I did have analogue cable, but got them to take it out.

Will the PS2 play (S)VCD`s ?

Just wondering if the PS2 will play these. Mainly SVCD`s I`m interested in (actually CVD to be precise), as that`s the format I save my home movies on (until I get a DVD Writer).

RE: PS2 multi region???

Do you need to put in those upgrade codes from the web site every time you want to play a region 1 DVD, or is it a 1 off process ? If it`s every time the "DVD Region Free" product from Blaze (£6.99 at Play) seems a better deal.

http://www.playserver2.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=PS2&title=107904

Just wondering which it`s best to go for, if anyone has any views.

RE: HELP NEEDED - CHEAP DIGITAL CAMERA

Argos do a Konica 1.3M pixels, complete with LCD screen for £99.99 (I think). I`ve no idea how good it is though.

You could have problems with Windows 95, as most cameras use a USB connection, and that`s not supported properly by Windows 95. You really need to upgrade to Windows 98 (SE ideally), or ME, or XP. Also your computer needs a USP port.

RE: Does your dvd Reviewer take forever to load recently?

I`ve used AVG for over 6 months now, since getting my cable modem.
No problems with it at all. Checks email`s fine on Outlook and Outlook Express. Updates available quite frequently if you check (I used to get an email when they had an update, but that`s stopped now).

RE: New Buy One Get One Free at HMV

Thinking of getting Star Trek The Movie Director`s Edition, and Tom`s Midnight Garden - combined price £20. From Play, combined price £27. OK the DVD`s are expensive individually, but combined into a BOGOF, it still can save you money.

RE: Richer Sounds - You pays your money you makes your choice

Hi blackpudding,

I was thinking of getting the Acoustic Solutions DVD421 from Richer Sounds (£69.95) for my daughter`s bedroom - assuming they had any stock at the shops, as they haven`t any on the web site. What you`ve said about the Limit DVD player makes me think twice. I might just go for the Alba from Argos.

RE: Jessica and Holly.. breaking news

Just run across this web page, claiming the police haven`t checked the American service men at Lakenheath.

I`ll leave judgement of it up to the individual reader.

RE: Proof

Well there`s a challenge then. Can we all keep posting to get to the magical 100 pages ?

By the way Greg WW, how`s life now ? This thread has moved onto wasps, but just wonderdd if you`d sorted out your life yet ?

RE: Proof

Hi Guys,

I`m back from Sunny Jersey now. (yes it was sunny, two whole weeks of sun, just a couple of half days of rain). Should have been ideal for wasps - ice creams all round, especially the ones my kids had, but no, a great lack of wasps. Not completely of course, I did manage to kill one or two, and give another one or two a severe headache.

I`ve since heard I was in the wrong place. Conkers in Ashby de la Zouch was the place to be for wasps. I guess we`re too late now, as the weather is turning cold again, wasps will be retreating & regrouping over the winter.

RE: wasp cream

Count me into the WEA.

Off to Jersey tomorrow ready to exterminate a few of the French beasts on their staging post on the way here.

RE: Half Price Wine @ Tesco

I didn`t include delivery as it`s a fixed price regardless of how many cases you order.

Half Price Wine @ Tesco

Tesco are selling a Rioja at half price £17.07 per case (of 6 bottles), £5 delivery.
Works out at £2.85 per bottle.
