Yeah same thing happened to me, kids completely unimpressed. And yet the paper quite clearly said on the front "FOR EVERY READER", I can only assume they thought I couldn`t read `cos there`s no disclaimer on the front page! Think I`ll write them a snotty letter and waste a bit of my time.

Does anyone know what`s going on with these buggers. I ordered Prince of Persia before Christmas, paid for it and got ball all in return. Phoned them got an ID number (or fob off number), was told they`ll ring me and still nothing. Rang them the other day and now it`s an answer phone telling you to leave a message or e-mail them. >:(

I`ve got to agree with the last post initially they start off quick then slow to a 3 or 4 day turnaround.... I`m looking for somewhere else. Great deal for free though. :) :/ :(

Continuing story of "Completely P@##ed Off!"

"Bloody PS2 has gone belly up. Only bought it in October for Xmas pressie for kids, got it chipped in November now it`s knackered and says "Disc Read Error" for every disc I put in. Kids were playing on it the they changed the disc.

So does anyone know a cheap UK repair firm seeing as I can`t go to Sony and get it fixed even though the chip probably has nothing to do with the fault."

Bugger it, it`s not the laser it`s an `la chip` or something that`s burned out inside. Apparently it`s very common in V9 PS2s. Can anyone shed any light on it `cos I know nothing about them. Apart from the fact I could have it fixed this week or it may take bloody forever while he`s waiting to get the chips in stock.

The most annoying thing is that Sony won`t honour it`s guarantee even though the chip has nothing to do with the laser. I remember HP trying a similar thing with it`s printers in that it refused to fix them if you`d used compatible inks even though the fault was noting to do with ink quality. Fortunately they got their arses kicked in the U.S. courts. A win for Joe Public what a refreshing change!

Recently got a PS2 for the kids from Santa, but could do with a review / chart site to get some ideas for games. Any ideas would be great. :D

Got one for the Dragon-in-law on Thursday from Aldis. When I tested it it was multi region out of the box, and I`ve got to say a damn good picture - bright and sharp.

I`ve just had the kids PS2 xmas pressie chipped, it works great and plays everything I can chuck at it. The problem is when I put NTSC games in the output is B&W. I`m using the lead that came with plugged into the scart adaptor thingy you get with it also. Any ideas.

RE: Welltech 20654 Region hack

I may have found something.... I had a Welltech and it went horribly wrong and wouldn`t play anything so I bought a Nextbase MDV1 on the internet. The menu system appears to be exactly the same as the Welltech and there is a firmware download to make it region free (just incase it isn`t when you receive it).

I`ve just bought a PS2 for the kids for crimbo on the Argos deal but which SCPH number has the bvuilt in IR. I would look to see if it had one but it`s been hidden well away so the kids can`t find it! :)

Went and got mine yesterday (on my second attempt), glad I did it was a bargain although I made sure I printed the web page out then mentioned the magic words of "Trading Standards" when they tried to say I couldn`t have that deal. After all it didn`t say I couldn`t! Don`t like to be a moaning git but.....

Nah it`s available over here uncut, I got it for crimbo last year I think it`s on the Tartan label so it`s quite cheap as well. :D The inlay tells you all about the original cuts they were made to do by the BBFC and how they relented every now and again and let them reinsert bits

Need a portable `plays everything` DVD player.

Can anybody suggest a portable DVD player that plays anything you can throw at it within reason ie DVD-R, multi region, VCD, SVCD, MP3. I had a Welltech that I bought from Lidl last Christmas played all but multi region then it suddenly decided not to play anything at all. Don`t need a screen as I`ve got a nice 6" one (ooer missus) that does the job.

Hack Needed For REC900!

My mate has just got his 1st DVD player via Britannia Music it`s a REC900 but hasn`t been setup as multi-region yet. I`ve looked everywhere I know but can`t find the hack. Can anybody oblige.

I know I`m thick but just to prove it, if my DVD player has a built in decoder do I need to connect it up to an amp of some descriptiojn or can I just connect speakers up to the right sockets on the back?

Can you disable Macrovision on Bush DVD?

Is it possible to disable Macrovision on a Bush 2004. There appear to be 2 submenus unobtainable on the main menu, don`t know if these have anything to do with it

Bush 2004 DVD Setup Menu

Just bought one of these but there are two menu items which are unobtainable. I presume they are service menus. Hopefully one of them will turn the macrovision off. Does anybody know the code or how to get into these options???
