Can't see it, this will do the usual now and disappear from view in a couple of weeks.

I've seen Liverpool fans on social media back John Henry as he made an apology video, so a lot of them seem to be happy now.

A good example of what I'm talking about:

Finally done something I've been considering for some time and joined a supporters organisation.
I am not by nature much of a joiner but considering the pleasure(?) or at least mental exercise I get from following Arsenal I reckon £20 a year isn't going to kill me
If your interested Rob it's the AST and your bound to have come across their spokes person Tim Payton either online or regularly interviewed on radio and TV.

Worth considering for your own clubs or even a league wide one.

Josh Kroenke has been speaking on a Fans forum via Zoom or it's equivalent.
If anyone's interested this link is a complete transcript

I've lifted a couple of quotes and added my comment.

Quote:
'The second question was 'what do the fans want?'. We tried to answer that question in many ways as possible.'

Except by asking them.

Quote:
You've heard us talk primarily about the stability of the football pyramid and that is generally what we were trying to accomplish when we were part of these conversations in recent weeks.

No, the intention was to be further up that pyramid and pull the ladder up after you.

Quote:
AV: Are you giving us assurance that this will never happen again?

JK: As that proposal was constructed, yes.

Note the weaselly wording of that reply.

Quote:
ZW: Can you guarantee we will never play home matches away from London while you and KSE own Arsenal?

JK: I can guarantee that.

The possibility of it being an away fixture still exists then,

Quote:
BG: What are your feelings on fan groups or a representative of the fans being at board level?

JK: Hm, it's a very tough one. I think there's pros and there's cons. In the wake of everything that's transpired in the last few days we're going to be asking ourselves many questions, including the one you just asked me. So while I'm not giving you a yes or no answer, it's definitely something that's up for discussion.

(Insert sound of can being kicked down the road)

A politely worded no then.

Kroenke also said any penalty levied against the club for withdrawing from the ESL will be paid by KSE and not Arsenal.
I may have missed it but I don't think any one asked about possible penalties levied by the Prem or FA but I'd take Kroenke's statement to cover that as well.
Points deductions etc are obviously a whole different ball game (pun intended).

EDIT: If your not reading the whole thing which I'd quite understand he completely stepped on the rumour of selling the club.
As we all know though everything in Football has it's price though this would be a bloody big one.

I doubt there will be any punishment, everything happened so quickly and was over so soon there was no damage done. Also can you punish a club that actually didn't do anything in the end?

Also, also, I'm not sure the Premier League would vote for any punishment when the top teams make up so much of the board.

You may well be right but there's considerable Ill will in the prem from some.
So we'll have to see how that manifests itself.

Hopefully normality can resume soon and we can all move on.
I found some of the comments hilarious from some owners - Moshiri's especially had so much irony.
He mentioned it was just a money game and not about football anymore... - coming from the guy who's spent more than only a couple of clubs over the last 4 or 5 years or so - all fruitlessly too.
You should 100% need to qualify for and deserve to qualify for these tournaments and not be there by default.  He said that too and then added his belief that the clubs involved should be deducted points.  Wonder what the outcome of that would have been?  He needs to be really careful about his wish for points deductions for poaching managers too.  Hmm.
I really feel the other clubs owe a huge debt of gratitude to the fans of the clubs involved for being so vociferous in their opposal to the disgusting behaviour demonstrated by their clubs' and their owners.  Without it the proposals would certainly have gone through.
I think the biggest one for me is the hypocracy too.  I'd totally bet that if the other owners were calling up Moshiri (and others!) and asking if he wanted to play the best clubs in the world every season, guaranteed, and then saw the obscene amounts of money at stake, his 'f***, yeah!' response would have taken milliseconds.  It's very easy to condemn and say you wouldn't do something if you were never going to be asked in the first place though..

I think if I wanted to see any change to the way football leagues are done, is cap player wages and get rid of the transfer system, so the richest clubs had less of an advantage.

Wage cap works in US sports, but there's not the lure of overseas.

There's a wage cap in rugby, but I think at least one club tried to bend the rules round that so is in trouble.

It would be a nice idea, would help ppl use their academies properly to nurture talent and use themselves, rather than just flog them off :(
