Jesus just got to the medical report by John Green that is supposed to prove he`s okay.

Apparently he started working with Michael after finishing off Kieron Dyer`s recovery.

He has also worked with Damien Duff and Dean Ashton.

And Craig Bellamy.


Rather than fill me with confidence in Michael Owen`s fitness, I`m actually questioning how bad this bloke is as they are all constantly injured and a basically a bunch of cripples.

Maybe if Owen took a cut in wages clubs would be interested! Or offered pay-per-play!

Im afraid he`s finished...at 29!!!

In fairness I`m highly critical of that dossier and the way the situation is being handled, but I`d be quite happy if he turns up at Utd on a freebie.

Similar thing at Newcastle I suppose but no doubting at all he can score goals. If he can stay fit.... wouldn`t have been surprised to see him at Everton..

As I have always said - Great Goalscorer, Poor footballer

And the fact that now he has had injuries, lost pace and isnt getting in the goals as much (for one reason or another) no one wants him goes to support this IMO
As he doesnt offer anything else then why would you gamble on him?

Hull reportedly are to offer him £40k per week, £20K for every game played and £10k per goal

May be his best / only offer.
If I were Hull I wouldnt have been so generous. Think I`d be trying for something more like £20k per week, £30k per game and maybe £10k per goal. That way the incentive is for him to bust his balls, get fit and prove everyone wrong!!

A Tribute - to remind us all of the good doc whilst his posting capacity is reduced. . . . . . . . . .

I would prefer to have a younger striker on our books, who we`d pay between £20-£40k a week to, rather than a past it Michael Owen on the same wage. I can`t see he`d lend anything to a club apart from experience, because as has been mentioned he`s lost many of the things that made him a great finisher. Particularly pace, which he had in abundance.

It`s a shame, because it`d be brilliant to have an on-form Michael Owen playing regularly for England. That Argentina goal in 1998... Just how good was he then?!

I think saying he`s a poor footballer is a bit harsh, whilst he has never achieved quite the potential of Rooney (another player who we put our entire desperate hopes on to get us through a world cup, when he was barely an adult), he has certainly been dogged by injury.

Maybe understatement of the year there.

Not sure you can blame him for being injured all the time, any more than you can blame a F1 driver for their car constantly breaking down.

I`d rather have him playing up front for Arsenal than Adebayor and Bendtner, if only he was fit enough. Actually, if he could take the wage cut, the fact he`d only be on a yearly contract (Wenger`s over 30 policy, which he nearly is), and that he`d basically not always be playing, I wouldn`t object to having him in the team!

Arsenal`s medical team are more than capable of fixing him, they managed to fix Eduardo, and keep Van Persie injury free for an entire season, a miracle in itself.

IMO he doesnt have the footballing abilities that would make Wenger take him on - fit or not!!

To clarify the term "poor footballer" is not to say he is s*** - thats obviously not true
What i do mean by that is that his link up play, his passing etc etc etc is not and has never been up to scratch to be a real top top footballer

As a goalscorer, as I say, very good - but that doesnt make you a footballer

It`s why as a Liverpool fan (and I reckon I wouldnt be the only one) if given a choice I would take Fowler at his prime over Owen at his every single time. Fowler was as good as if not better a finisher, but his play outside the area and with others was just much much better
For the same reasons, he couldnt lace Torres` boots IMO
