Choices UK

My son wanted to order some PC games recently, and we used the Find Games site to get the best prices.

For two of the games he wanted, Choices UK came up trumps. I knew they had pulled out of the High Street, but they were still trading online, so I figured it was OK to order from them.

Well, I won`t bother any more! They are useless.

They took the money from my bank account straight away, but they don`t send a confirmation email. They don`t set you up with an online account so you can check your order`s progress and they don`t ever send any emails at all, even if the order is delayed indefinitely.

Despite both games supposedly being "in stock", one took a fortnight to get here. It has now been a month and there is still no sign of the other one. I have scanned the website and there is no facility to check or chase an order. At this rate, it might never turn up, and I have no easy way of contacting them about it. Thank God it was only a fiver!

For an online retailer, this is a very poor set up. Do not use them! >:(

They used to be really good but I had exactly the same problem recently. Ordered the Orange Box for PC at admittedly a very very good price. No email confirmation and they appear to have lost one of my orders.

You can ring up and they are pretty helpful but I have lost all confidence in them

UPDATE - Just cancelled my order without telling me. Quote `I should have had a letter` :(

Weren`t Choices UK on the verge of bankruptcy earlier this year? - I know they closed all their stores. Presumably they have had to cut-back on staff etc., hence the problems described. I have used them for on-line purchases in the past and they were fine, but not recently.

Choices went bankrupt last year. Blockbuster bought the high street operation and rebranded the stores. The mail order and online operation was bought by an outfit called Findel who are part of the Webb Group Ltd. Webb Ivory DM is a direct mail subcontractor which fulfils orders for a bunch of those junk mail catalogues like eRazamataz, Boogaloo, Past Times and some of the more moral blackmailing charities like Cancer Research UK, National Trust and PDSA.
