Page 1 of Toolstation / Screwfix - Both cheaper than high street!!

Hi All,

Big fan of screfix ... massively cheaper in most cases to the high street and convenient.

Now been made aware of Toolstation. Free delivery for itmes over £40 and next day if ordered before 6pm. If order after 6pm its only £5 delivery.

Take a look I think they made be a tad cheaper ... www.toolstation.com

Anyone used them?

This is a retailer thread so it`s been shifted in here.

I`ve used Screwfix several times as have other members of the family. Always been excellent. No experience of ToolStation though.

My hubby gets all his stuff from Screwfix at the mo. I`ll pop the Toolstation website under his nose though! Thanks. :)

I think B&Q own Screwfix now...

Absolutely right. The guy is a legend, sets up an awesome firm, sells it to B&Q (Kingfisher) for millions, and then uses the money to set up again, with even cheaper prices!

I have been using toolstation for a couple of years now, and tend to use them more these days as i have a bit of a hatred for B&Q. But it is always worth comparing, and screwfix has a bigger range, but that said the latest toolstation catalogue has doubled in size. Nice to support the underdog ... of course Screwfix also have the benefit of having a couple of trade counters near me in london for real last minute purchases, whereas toolstation shops (which again, are better with really knowledgable staff) are still only in the Southwest where the guy is based (been helping a mate rennovate in Exeter, and we were virtually daily visitors for a fortnight!)

I think B&Q own Screwfix now.
That said the prices at Screwfix have always been extremely competitive and as such offer great value and service and as long as that continues they will have my custom.
Been using Screwfix for years now and as a shop has opened in Falkirk I am a regular there now much to my good ladies annoyance :D :D
