Cheapest Broadband+Line Rental+Calls / Broadband individually if cheaper overall
I don`t understand why my area doesn`t appear to come under the areas of FREE BROADBAND or decent discounts. I.e. Sky, tiscali, etc
According to ORANGE I am only a short distance away from the BT exchange and should achieve speeds of 7 - 8 mpbs. The companies tell me they need to upgrade the BT exchange, to enable us to use their services and cannot tell me when that would be in their planned works.
Is there any way to find out when this is likely to happen? Or is the best broadband+phone line rental + calls package? Talk talk may be the best option but don`t like the fact can`t p2p. The other is ORANGE but with any contract, they have to start the 18 months again, so don`t want to do that till my upgrade in 6 months time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
Joint Ownership of Property - Declaration of Trust
Horrible subject but crossed my mind :/
I live in a property with my girlfriend, which is mortgaged. I presumed both persons owned an equal share in the property and in the event of the others death, the other in the relationship would automatically receive the property. We also pay joint life insurance to cover the cost of the mortgage.
With a lot in the news ref un-married couples and striving for the same rights as married couples, it got me thinking:-
1. If you were to seperate with your partner, would the split be equal as neither of you had paid a deposit in to the house?
2. Would any division be based on earnings?
3. In the event of the others death, would the living partner own the property (and its debts :) ) ... or the next in line family member?
If it would mean one person could in theory earn a greater share or if the worse was to happen .... should you have a declaration of trust.
I was wondering whether to download one of an internet site for £25 or should you go through a solicitor, which could obviously work out very expensive.
We ignored our solicitors advise when we purchased our home. Looking back I wonder whether we should have played safe and formed a declaration of trust.
Thanks,
Chris
POLL: Best for Gaming!!
This post includes a poll.
What is the best and cheapest provider of broadband?
I`m currently with talktalk on a 2mg connection (unlimited download) for £15pm. I cannot fault the service (apart from no p2p). Though now-a-days with free broadband around it seems a little expensive for what I`m getting.
I could go for orange 2mg for free or 8mg with free landlines call around world for free for £5. Though you have to renew contract for 18 months and at the moment I am12 months in to my 18 month contract at moment. I be damned if they expect me to keep the same old battered phone for 30 months. I`ve also heard mixed reviews ref the standard of the service they provide.
Unfortunately Sky doesn`t offer free broadband in my area and no Virgin service what-so-ever.
Any recommendations from anyone ... thanks again!!
Chris
How do you reinstall windows xp on Toshiba tablet?
My Tobisha tablet for some mad and unknown reason is failing to boot up, not finding the operating system. After a number of attempts it appears to eventually work?
Anyone else faced such a problem? Will reinstalling Windows resolve the problem?
The question is then how as there is no drive in the device? Is there a way of connecting by wire for example from my desktop?
Help ... please!!
Chris

Free Sky Plus Box + Free Install + No £10 monthly subscription ... If out of 12 month contract
Hi All,
Its been ages since I was last on the site, submitting posts. This post can `only` be done if out of your 12 month contract.
This has to be done in the following way:
1. Customer:- Ring sky
2. Ask to speak to the cancellations department
3. Ask to cancel your contract because you are unable to watch your favourite programmes due to shift work ... i.e. like me have missed all of `24` and if cant watch the programmes you want to watch then theres no point having
4. Sky : - How about a Sky Plus Box (160gb) - £45 install, £10 a month till July then free thereafter
5. Customer: - No thanks ... Not that fussed and in theory going to cost me £65 to keep me as a Sky customer. Not willing to pay out .. (even better if virgin in your area ... can play they`re cheaper card)
6. Sky: - Can offer Sky + box reconditioned and install for free (half recording capacity 80 gb) still though a massive amount of recording time
7. Customer: - What about the monthly fee
8. Sky: - Offer to waiver though only clause is a new 12 month contract
Reference points 6. they didn`t automatically offer it ... they hold that offer off so be prepared to haggle.
Benefits: - They upgrade the unit on aerial, which has four ports (single on normal sky). 2 required for sky in your main room and in theory two other ports for two other rooms. The spare two sockets can be wired to two other units with cards. I`m planning to ring up today to see if can wangle a freeview card, have someone install the wire to my bedroom and use my old box. There is no way round a multiroom sky charge if want same channels as downstairs.
Will let you know how get on with freeview card .... anyone else done this before.
Good Luck,
Chris

ROCKY 6 - OPINIONS (CONTAINS SPOILERS)
Hi all,
Absolutely nothing happens during the first hour. We wait and we wait as the Italian stallion sits daily by the grave of his wife, speaks to customers at his restaurant and ponders why his son doesn`t really like him looking him up at his workplace.
Then comes a computer simulation between ROCKY and the current world champion on ESPN. The clear winner being ROCKY!! The current champion unpopular, looks to fight ROCKY in an exhibition fight for popularity expecting it to be an easy run.
ROCKY feels like an old half-remembered hero nobody, and looks for local fights and obtains a licence to fight again. ROCKY is approached by the champions managers and decides to go with it, as his last fight!!
Now, at 60 nearly twice the age of Dixon, he is matched with him again in a 10-round exhibition match before which Dixon says he will let him go the full distance if he behaves himself. But that`s not old Rocky`s style.
ENDING REMOVED .......... :/ (SORRY)
I would give the film 3.5/5 - definately worth a watch!! But not as good as the other ROCKY films, but definately a nice end for the series!!
What do you all think?
Chris

``WATCH SKY IN ANOTHER ROOM`` - How do you obtain additional receivers?
If I buy a transmitter and receiver set, can you buy an additional receiver so I can watch the tv in 3 different rooms?
RE: Does it matter which lane you`re in??
1st point:- Nothing wrong with Wales!! :)
It doesn`t matter what lane you are in unfortunately, the speed limit is the speed limit. The camera may have been concentrating on the outside lanes (as you said faster travelling vehicles) as so you may be lucky :/
I`ve done the M4 trip a number of times and there`s always cameras on the later stretches of the M4 before the bridge. Keep an eye out for speed camera signs and slow down in these areas.
Good luck, Chris
``WATCH SKY IN ANOTHER ROOM`` - How do you obtain additional receivers?
Hi All,
I have sky in the front room, and was wondering how I could transmit the sky to other rooms in my case the kitchen next door and a bedroom upstairs (and the ability to change channels).
What is the most effective, least messy and cheap solution?
Thanks,
Chris

Advise please :- Who should bear cost of repair Renault or Myself??
The coil light (heart beat symbol) in orange appears and cuts the engine out when stationary and fails to start, and is only doing so if I`m lucky after a number of occasions.
A diagnostic revealed it as a problem with the wiring loom. A Renault Specialist insisted that the security box to the rear of the vehicle (design fault) cuts throught the wire causing the problem above
The injection computer is based at the back of the engine, it has a small black metal cover over it to protect it from tamper. The black box on the computer rubs through the ECU wires.
It is an expensive problem to rectify (around £400).
From reading a number of sites ... the problem seems to be happening with a vast number of Clios. Speaking to a Renault Speciailist he indicates its a design fault as well.
So should customers be having to cough up £400 to rectify a design issue. My car was registered in June 2002 and therefore 1.5 years out of warranty.
Is this an issue anyone has managed to get Renault to rectify at their cost?
Should I have to pay out or is any legislation to back up a claim against Renault Carrying out the work?
Thanks all,
Chris
Anyone know where can pick up cheap HAYNES manual for Renault Clio 2002?

RE: Linksys Router problem
Had similar problems.
Contact the free phone number they were really useful and rectrified the problem with mine!!
Chris
RE: Reault clio 2000 starting problems?
Believe I am having the same problem!! You need to get a diagnostic done which will cost around £41.
My problem is apparently the wiring loom. There is a black security box in the rear of the engine bay (centre top). It is covering the wiring loom and what it has been doing (design fault) is cutting in to the wire. I have been told this is the centre of all problems with this car. It causes the car to randomly cut out.
Resetting the system stopped the problem for around 3 weeks and has just started up again. Its looking at around £350 - 400 to rectify.
I am also have a knocking noise from the front of the vehicle which I believe is the engine mounts.
An expensive set of problems to fix.
It may be worth you visiting and registering with this site. Its a Renault Forum where people reply to the above sort of question.

Let me know how you get on.
Chris :)
