Tesco.Com Bargin Thread Follow-Up

Okay people, so it got closed in the Bargin thread here as it has become a retailer issue... has anyone heard from Tesco about why they took the full amount or if refunds will be offered?

I Just rang Tescos on the number in the e-mail. Forget that number! I was given another number, then another number, then another, etc!!! Eventually got through to someone who barely spoke English who said it was very odd that I had been charged full price as the e-mail clearly states the £25 deduction. Alas, she said she would have it looked into and get back to me "in a day or two".
What a load of exasperating `phone calls!!
Will let you know youse(!) know the outcome "in a day or two".

I have checked my bank account and £31.63 has been taken but the item I ordered was £21.63 so they have also charged me full price, have sent off an email asking why I have been charged £10 more than I authorised, will just have to wait and see what happens.

E-mails go unanswered, except for the automatic acknowledgement.

I phoned my credit card company. The full amount has been authorised but no money has been taken yet.

I was informed by the disputes department that if the full amount was claimed by Tesco, I could claim the difference between that amount and the amount in the email.

I was informed that even if Tesco had made a mistake in the pricing the amount shown at time of purchase was the amount of the contract.

This will probably change when/if I claim from the credit card company.

I ordered a total of £27.13 so should cost £2.13 with the voucher, surprise surprise £27.13 has been authorised but not yet taken from my credit card.

Spoke to Tesco who confirmed I owe them £2.13 and they said that was the amount that would be taken. My credit card co (goldfish) said if the £27.13 is taken ask Tesco for the refund and if no joy then return to goldfish to raise a dispute.

Lets wait and see

that is exactly the same situation as myself - the woman on the end of the phone said there would only be £2.13 taken from my account but it appears that £27.13 has been taken. She said the money would be deducted from my bank account when the DVD`s are dispatched which is tomorrow - I`ll post tomorrow night after I check my bank account

I rang the customer services number in the email today and explained that I had used a voucher from a bargains web page after `doing a search on Google for Tesco discount vouchers`. He cheerfully dealt with my query and asked which website I had seen the voucher on but I explained that alas, I had forgotten the name of it. ;-)

I gave him the order numbers and said that if I shouldn`t have been able to use the voucher in the first place then that was fine but they would have to cancel the orders, although of course if they were prepared to honour the discounts then I would appreciate it very much. He took my phone number and rang back within half an hour to confirm that I could have the items at the discounted price. :-)

I think the key is to get the right customer service chap or chapess (sp?) and be cheerful, polite and, if you can manage it, a bit naive-sounding. And of course, don`t be name dropping if they ask you where you saw the voucher. Good luck!
