Recovering deleted photographs

Choagy (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 8th May 2016, 18:01

Afternoon folks, as per heading do any members recommend any recovery utility . My good lady accidentally deleted all photos from her mobile. I was hoping they would simply be hidden from view but still recoverable. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated folks .

if you can locate the specific destination on the phone (DCIM, Camera etc), then you can use Recuva from Piriform (the Ccleaner guys). As long as the images haven't been overwritten already, and you don't try to recover the images to the same location, it works pretty well

Thanks Pete :) Problem appears to be that my good ladies phone is invisible to Recuva (Free version) It is one of those Medion P4502 models (All I could afford at time for her :) ) and indeed it has a DCIM / Camera folder but the software (Recuva) does not "See " it. Would the full paid version "See" the phone or recognise it .

Are you sure you're looking in the right place?  internal/external card etc.  The folder structure is very similar.

I sucessfully used Recuva when my missus deleted some photos off her mobile, I used the free one. As Sj says above, are you looking on the phone, when you need to look at the card in the phone, or vice versa?

how man usb devices has windows shown when you plug the phone in?

The photographs are stored on the phones internal memory, sadly not on a micro sd card . I can only assume that there are restrictions on whether a phones internal memory can be scanned or copied as it is never shown as an option to scan .

BTW admars mate, if you prefer a reasonably mild single malt, well one that doesn`t take the skin off your neck, try a Rosebank 12 year old. I prefer Talisker/ Jura/Bunnahabhain  (Throat rasper stuff) myself but the Rosebank, if you can get a  hold of it is a lovely wee dram (I have kept a bottle for myself) and enjoy a wee dram as a treat now and then .

I think that's a bit out of my price range, I try and get something around £25 which was £35 rather than in the hundreds ;)

for my fortieth, I thought about getting a 40 year old bottle, had no idea how much they cost, didn't even want to buy a taster in case I didn't like it at that sort of money!
