that is a shame, some-one at work the other day wondered why i was using winamp, they were shocked it still existed and stopped using it years ago :(
still my mp3 player of choice, use it in MS Win, and with wine in Linux, I just like the way it's plain and simple, does the job, and I find it the best tool for editting id3v1 and id3v2 tags.
I've used foobar as well for plain and simple mp3 playing, but still prefer winamp.

Foobar2000 memory usage 42Mb, WinAmp memory usage 82Mb, not really enough of a difference to make me want to switch.
Like admars I find winamp is just ideal for what I use it for. I like the UI, the fact I can minimize and dock it to the top of the screen, it's very fast database search and playlist support.
Just tried Foobar2k, hate the UI, no docking, double clicking an album or a track on that album doesnt do anything. You seem to have to add it to a playlist first. :/
Think I'll be using WinAmp until it ends up with some security flaw that means I have to stop.

I used winamp for years. Never got on with Foobar2k when I'd tried.
I actually just use iTunes nowadays but mainly because I use my phone/ipad to play music and podcasts etc. I still have winamp and Foobar2k installed on the desktop as my alternatives.
