hotmail is going to become Outlook.com  Already live and gives the chance register your new @outlook.com email address after you have signed in with your old hotmail address, just done mine as I like to get in early and have the same alias on services.

cool, thanks for the heads up, got to nab my usual name :) Interesting they say it can work with linked in, facebook, and other email accounts, if you can`t beat them, join them ;)

Found something really cool.

Under  the options Gear, you can go back to Hotmail!

Thank god for that, for since I went with Outlook, I`ve been getting more and more spam each day, and marking it as junk doesn`t filter it out.

I`ve got a redundant hotmail address which I just logged back on to and it`s changed me to Outlook which is fair enough.
Is there anyway of cancelling that and changing to a new email address on the new outlook.com?

EDIT: Forget it, thicko just found it.

Very helpfull post, ta to the OP. I think I was on me hols for the original post so missed it
Now changed it to an email I`m far more likely to make use of than the wordy rubbish one I chose before.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
