What programmes are there to grab a still picture from a DVD

yes they will, but I`m guessing you want to know how..

In winDVD, pause the dvd at the scene you want and hit `P`. Then you`ll need to look in the winDVD folder c: program files intervideo windvd capture (put a backslash (next to the `z` key) in between the words, with no spaces, assuming C is your hard drive)

With PowerDVD you have to disable hardware acceleration to enable screen capture, and you can set up a directory to dump your screen grabs to.

Or slam the Alt button and Print Screen Button at the same time. You can then paste it into Paint or some such. :)

Thanks for the help. I knew about `print screen` but thought a still capture would be better. I have Power DVD on my laptop but it won`t play DVD+R/W so I can` load the disc. My desktop has WIN DVD but it seems the directory on windows XP is in `Documents/Pictures`. I have now captured the frame.
