After a first listen, I was a bit underwhelmed with X&Y...
...but following a few times through, it started to hook me, and now I think its as good as their 2nd!

Yea very errrr....dissapointing upon first listen, agreed me and the missus as we quickly put on "Rush of Blood" to remind us of those halcyon days. All seems far to somber and on first impression i`d say about 3 good tracks including the single which is clearly the albums strongest track in my opinion. Not all bad news though as i`ve got plenty of other new stuff through the door to listen to this week (Gorrilaz, Basement Jaxx LE) so will be a while before i return to this album. I like Coldplay but this album isn`t their best is it?

Know what you mean, me and the missus felt excatly the same, in fact I dont think I even liked it at all on first listen.
But........ after a few more plays, we both think it`s fantastic.

Just had a first listen, and am quite positive about it. Some very strong songs, though maybe it`s one or two tracks too long. And how does Chris Martin get away with so many cliched lyrics, you can often guess what`s coming next but somehow it still works.
