THE BEST PICTURE QUALITY ? (Be honest)
Regarding pixellation on DVD films, i was wondering.......
Which manufacturer ahieves stunning `unpixelled` picture quality? Forget the fancy gadgets, just the best picture quality. Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic or `unheard ofs ?`
Or are ALL machines blighted by this ?

More often than not, the pixellation is down to poor encoding of the DVD itself (i.e. using too low a bitrate when the disc is authored). So there`s *no* player that can provide "pixellation free" reproduction from *all* DVDs - you can`t make a silk purse out of a pig`s ear.
However, given a *well* encoded DVD, there are players that will reproduce it better than others. Of the players I`ve seen, Pioneer and Toshiba models seem to be the best.

I would go with Pioneer their picture quality in general is on a par with or better than most other players including high end models

My Sony 735 seems pretty flawless. As a comparison I have only seen budget players eg Wharfedale etc. My Sony walks all over these.

The average dvd player uses 27mhz/10 bit dacs. The sony uses 54 mhz/12but dacs which improve the quality even further. There is a new denon which uses duel 108mhz/14 bit dacs for an amazing picture. This
figure is a good indication of how good the picture quality is.You will find the best quality from the sony/toshs/pioneers.
