Unabl;e to record from Sky + box on certain channels !!!!

I have a V1 Sky + box & Panasonic DMR 85 HD & DVD Recorder. I have been archiving Little Britain from My Sky + planner to the HD on my Panny recorder. Until this morning that is !!!!!!!!! I tried to copy the latest episode when the Panasonic came up with the following message " Copying of this material is not allowed canot record" . I have tried to record several channels directly from my Sky + including several BBC channels, Sky Movies ITV, CH4. Each time I get the same message. All the sports channels will record as well as Sky 1, Sky News, MTV Kerrang etc. My only thought is Sky have introduced a Copyright signal & installed a filter during the last update. Anybody got any ideas ?

Desperate Help needed for Wedding transfer to MYDVD

Folks,

I have copied my wedding from VHS onto DVD using my Phillips DVDR880. I now want to put it onto a built up DVD with lot`s of pictures etc using Sonic MYDVD. I have posted before & was told to use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. I get the picture great trouble is it has no sound !!!

Any ideas ??

Thanks for the instructions. I now have the wedding onto my PC. Only one problem, I can`t get any soumd from it !!!. Is it something I may be doing wrong or can you think of way round it ?

DVD ISO File Help Needed

Just returned from Vegas with a VHS copy of my wedding. I`ve burned it onto DVD using my Phillips DVD+R880. I`ve put itonot my harddrive using DVD Dycrypter. I now want to change the file into an m-peg so I can edit it & put it on a DVD with lot`s of noce photo`s. I`ve downloaded Flaskmpeg but it doesn`t recognise an ISO file.

Any pointers.

PS I`m pretty much a novice @ DVD burning so make it simple !!

Best Way to Record from VHS

Just got married in Vegas & now I`m back in the sunny UK I want to transfer the wedding video (VHS) PAL & lot`s of digital photographs onto dvd using my nice new DVD+RW drive on my PC. I also have a Philips DVDR 880 in my living room. I have copied the wedding onto a DVD using that but can`t work out how to get it onto my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I`m new to all this. Any recommedations for some decent software would be great too.

I`ve just got myself a new PC & want to transfer all my e-mail adresses, websites, photo`s etc. Do I have to burn them all onto a cd or is there a way with a lead of some desription & a snazzy bit of software ?

Philips DVDR880 for £252 at Powerhouse

Powerhouse have these for £279 + an extra 10% off this weekend. There aren`t many left though but I`ve got myself one - bargain.

DVD+RW Compatibility

I`m seriously considering buying the Philips DVDR 880 from my local Powerhouse for £250. trouble is it`s a 1 day special so I have to get it today. I have a Sony DVP735 player. Can anybody tell me if DVD+RW discs are compatible with this machine. Any other info on the 880 would be useful.

I would have thought a DVD-R would have a blue colour to it or something similar as with CD-R`s. You can easily tell the difference between a `pressed` CD & a `burnt` one.

My Sony 735 seems pretty flawless. As a comparison I have only seen budget players eg Wharfedale etc. My Sony walks all over these.

I`m getting mine for £6.49 for 6 months as I was on the off-peak package for £4.99 until they decided to up it to £8.99. Trouble is now I`m on Anytime it takes 10 - 20 dial attempts to get through. I doubt i`ll be with Freeserve after my 6 months are up. Any ISP recommendations ?

Tesco`s Make Another Blunder !

Tesco`s have gone & done it again. Following the Stargate `directors cut` for £7.99 cock up they have just gone & made a bigger one. I have just bought Raging Bull special edition & A Fish Called Wanda for the bargain price of £9.99. They are running a buy a `Special Edition` disc, Raging Bull, Terminator, Platoon, This Is Spinal Tap, & a few others then choose a claimed `hot` DVD free !! Yep Free. Hot DVD`s are A FCW , Summer Of Sam, and many more. I price checked the Raging Bull disc & hey presto £9.99 with A Fish Called Wanda coming up at £15.99 but free as part of the `Hot` Offer. I`m not too sure about the other SE`s as I was so exited I didn`t want to wait around to price check them. Happy Shopping Folks.

Unfortunately life never seems simple where DVD is concerned. The question is what can we do about it ? & what should we do about it? I have the Denon 1602 (recommended by Westy!) & am pretty P****d that it doesn`t work with Pearl Harbour & JP3. No doubt we will have many more titles coming out that will be incompatible. Does anybody know of the legal aspect of returning the Amp as it obviously doesn`t do what it say`s on the tin !(I got mine from Hifi Junkies a couple of months ago).

I bought it last year (Sep) I think! from Play247 for £12.99 inclusive of P&P. A fantastic series & a great DVD transfer. Woolworths are selling it for £45 (R2) !!! What a rip off.

Dolby Digital Dropout in Pearl Harbour

Has anybody else out there experienced a dropout of the DD signal at the start of pearl harbour or any other DVD`s ?

I`d like to know as I`m compiling a letter to the Dolby Labs & the distributors.

I need a cheap & cheerful DVD player for my bedroom. Does anybody know of anywhere selling the classy Wharfdale 750s ?. If not I would welcome any recommendtions for players under £100.
