Just been in asda in perth they have a mini/portable
(no screen) dvd player for £29.99 its top loading and has all the usual connections plus built in dd decoder, they also have a freeview box with twin scarts for £39.99

I would go with Pioneer their picture quality in general is on a par with or better than most other players including high end models
