RE: NEW SCAN - Worth shouting about?
I personally would be reluctant to buy anything from Scam ever again.
RE: NEW SCAN - Worth shouting about?
Hmm almost £300 thats priced in the medium/high endish category.
with inbuilt DTS/DD 5.1 looks impressive, but the reviews is what counts.

RE: NEW SCAN SC-3000 - Just received mine.
Just received my SCAN SC-3000 (AVR3000 on the book) this morning too.
I am a little concerned with the hiss in the speakers and was hoping Dan could comment on it, if he has tried his out yet.
I find that when playing a DVD/CD/CDR there is a constant hiss coming from the speakers. When the volume is set to the minimum, it`s not there at all, from 1-6 there is only a slight hiss, something I might expect, then from 6-8 an intermittent louder hiss, and from there up this hiss constantly. It`s not loud but noticeable at the beginning of a music track for example. I am wondering if this is just a poor quality amp or if this machine has a fault. Any comments?
Thanks,
Robert

RE: NEW SCAN SC-3000 - Just received mine.
My only comment is that I have to rip my entire system out to set-up the SC-3000, so I won`t be able to comment for a day or two ! ;-)

RE: NEW SCAN SC-3000 - Just received mine.
Anybody thats pays nearly £300 pound for any unbranded DVD player deserves all the trouble there going to get!
RE: NEW SCAN SC-3000 - Just received mine.
Bear
That`s not really a fair point - it`s a DVD player and 5.1 DD and DTS processor/amp too. I would think that`s reasonable value surely ?!
