Bush Portable DVD player PDVD2000 (ALDI, £199)
This Region 2 player is very similar to Apex 650 player.
You can get it to play Region 1 disks by repeatedly pressing "1" on your remote as the disk loads. It will diasplay "Wrong Region", but play nevertheless. The remote keys don`t work thereafter though.
Also, SETUP, PREFERENCES, enter on remote 1,3,6,9. This brings up version number (and little else!)
Can it be hacked permanently?

No guarantee.. but was on french website.
Ouvrez le tiroir
Insérez un DVD Zone 1
(laissez le tirroir ouvert)
Pressez 0,1,2,3 sur la télécommande
Pressez PLAY
Le lecteur est maintenant dézoné. Pour le remettre en Zone 2, faîtes pareil mais avec un DVD Zone 2 au lieu du Zone 1
OR .
Appuyer sur le bouton Open de votre télécommande
Appuyer sur 2, 0, 0 et 1 sur votre télécommande

:) Thanks for that it worked for me( but not on RCE films) If you find a permanent cure please let me know
Lloyd
How did you get it to work? Which method? Think my French must not be up to scratch!

Lloyd same here . can you translate into english how you have managed to play other regions and is it a permanent change or just each time you watch .
doing continual 1`s when you load the film works . but you then are unable to use any feature including pause , stop forward etc ...
I take it by the lack of response no one here knows another hack or one that definately works for this player .. keep trying out there must be one out there somewhere .... :(
Translation of both methods....
OPEN THE DVD TRAY
INSERT A ZONE 1 DISC
LEAVE THE TRAY OPEN
PRESS 0, 1, 2, 3 ON THE REMOTE
PRESS PLAY
THE PLAYER IS NOW ZONE 1
TO PUT BACK TO ZONE 2, REPEAT SAME PROCESS WITH A ZONE 2 DVD DISC.
OR ANOTHER OPTION IS
PRESS THE OPEN BUTTON ON THE REMOTE
PRESS 2, 0, 0, AND THEN 1 ON YOUR REMOTE (1 BEING ZONE 1 I IMAGINE).
Both of these hacks appear to be temporary..
I dont know if we are talking about the same model . I have tried noth methods
Method 1 will not work because you have to close the tray for it to read . so after typing in 0123 when close tray it comes up wrong region
Method 2 I do not have open tray on my remote . it has to done manually . and again this doesnt work
Still frustrated :( :(
OK, we need Lloyd to talk us through his solution.. so over to you lloyd...
