Page 1 of Need a player, with 5.1 Decoder and Region Free!! I`ve Found one £169.99 COMET

Firstly I have to thank KANDEE for the help hope you read!.

I have recently bought a Goodmans DVD 3000 from Comet. £169.99.

I needed one with a decoder. I thought I would have to dispense with it being Multi-Region.

Fortunately with KANDEE`s help there is a crack that WORKS!!!!.

1. Menu
2. Enter 1,6,7
3. Region 1-6 will appear
4. You could at ths point select the MUTE button for Region Free as I have.

I thought I would then give it the ultimate test I got hold of a Region 1 copy of the MATRIX (i.e This was a Region 2 Player). put it in the player, it played straight away with no problems at all. I then stopped play and changed the disc for a Region 2 (Bugs Life) it chugged away for around 10 seconds then just played. I then switched this for a Region 1 copy of the ANTS and it just played.

FANTASTIC.. I just wanted to let everybody know!!!

Is the player anygood? i was thinking of getting one but could`t find a review of it anywhere, do you know where i could get a review from? It seems a real bargain for the price but is the picture anygood? as the sound will oviously be excellent. Do Goodmans have a Website as i could`t find one of those either. Cheers

I had an Alba 103, which was great until you tried to play Columbia Tristar disks. It wouldn`t play them at all. So I took it back to Toys`r`us. Then opted for the Grundig 220 from Currys which you can set as region 1-6 (no problem with RCE disks) or region free through a hack and is Macrovision disabled right out of the box. So I would say if you are looking for a Budget DVD then this is a Bargain. Picture and sound seem excellent for a budget player.

thanks for the mention,and i hope that you have better luck with your goodmans than i had with my proline 2000 because they are basically the same machine(oritron)but with some extras - built-in decoder,different styling. you might be interested in this site www.allvols.virtualave.net
(all about oritron dvd players).( anyone with the medion or schneider or matsui players should look there too).

Sammy, I couldn`t find any info either which is why I had to ask for a crack on here. There simply was nowhere to look. All I can say is the one I have is based on a Oritron 200 case with I believe Oritron 600 Technology. I think there may be a review for them somewhere!

As for picture quality, I am very pleased. I actually have Digital Cable and it seems to be on par with that sort of quality.

My friend got stuffed with a cheap daewoo of the net, came round saw my set-up went and bought one from COMET the next night!

I`ve just bought a Minato G-1 player from Tesco, it`s got Dolby and DTS, Scart output, plays V-CDs, CDs and I think it might play MP3 too, all for £129.99. Bargain! It`s also remote hacked to play multiregion, I`ve only had to do it once, but now it seems to automatically change regions without having to type the code in! Fantastic!
