phantom menace layer change

in chapter 24 just after qui-gon hands anakin his winnings,the picture freezes for about half a second(i dont normally see layer changes)
can anyone else notice this(r2 version)

it is widescreen but the patch is only visible during 4:3 picture modes and comes and goes. thanks anyway.

besides a magnet. can a standard electrical socket cause it,because it is intermittent so it cant be the built-in speakers?

quite the opposite with me - i had a skipsung, oops i mean samsung 511 for two days(two days too long) which i took back and had an lg 3200 instead , much better imo and i`ve had a few players.
p.s. c.m.t are a bunch of tossers!

if your not happy with the noise and freezing - let em know -i did , but my swap out wasn`t freezing ,just a really noisy drive and the player looked like it had come from a bad car boot sale. two days after i complained i had another replacement in immaculate condition,lovely quiet drive and just as fast as my original,better picture too!

vern or alans - is there a manufacture date sticker on the back of your replacement players or just a serial no like mine?
lg replied earlier to my complaint email and said that i would get a better replacement or my own one back and fixed.

mine came today(tuesday) and not only was it a 1.4 re-furbished scratched and chipped(marked not microchipped) player but the disc drive sounds really noisy and it still wont play the discs that i want it to. i have just emailed lg to complain so we will see what they say!

thanks for the help! yes it was outputs that i meant(i was tired when writing that post) i have no room for an amp and just wanted to use my old tv surround speakers for that little extra definition, even though my hitachi 3ds sounds pretty good for simulated sound.
btw duke my tv manual only mentions not to use the 18v socket for non hitachi stuff.

hitachi tv question

i have a hitachi 28w511tn tv and want to know if i can plug any speakers directly into the input sockets at the back or are they only for amp inputs(would the sound board in the tv go pop if i did just plug them in?)

the 1000 and the 2000 are made by different companies (the 2000 is an oritron - very bad reputation for faulty players)
i also had mine from comet and even though it clearly had several faults, it took me nearly three months to get a refund and im not the only one!

if you go to the left hand side of the web page and do a search you should find all the complaints about this p o s or try www.deja.com for another search. btw i hope that it wasn`t bought from c*m*t because if it was then you are in for a lot of grief.

find out the phone number of your local comet service centre(where you player is ,probably) then phone them up and ask to speak to the service manager, then argue with him and if possible include the area service manager as well - let them know that you are not just an average punter but well into the dvd scene and know what you are talking about - thats what i did after a month without my pooline 2000 and now i have a nice shiny LG 3200e(great player) and no pooline crap!

is there any good reason for me not to buy an LG 3200E dvd player to replace my now returned POOline 2000 and SKIPsung 511 players?
i don`t want to hear what machine i should be buying - just an honest and sensible answer to my question - no crap comments!
