I had an Alba 103, which was great until you tried to play Columbia Tristar disks. It wouldn`t play them at all. So I took it back to Toys`r`us. Then opted for the Grundig 220 from Currys which you can set as region 1-6 (no problem with RCE disks) or region free through a hack and is Macrovision disabled right out of the box. So I would say if you are looking for a Budget DVD then this is a Bargain. Picture and sound seem excellent for a budget player.

Cheers, I`ll give it a go. Have you tried to record a DVD to VCR, is the Macrovision disabled or have I just been lucky with the discs i have tried
Region Hack for Grundig GDV 220
I reccently bought a Grundig GDV 220. I need a region hack for it.
Macrovision seems to be already disabled as I can record Chicken run and Random Hearts without a problem. I have tried the hacks for the previous grundigs but can`t seem to get them to work.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
