I am going to get the Scan Machine first thing monday morning. Can anyone tell me if you can disable macrovision yet.

You can`t, Scan wanted that feature in but the manufacturers have been frightened off from it by the evil MV corp. So therefore it doesn`t come with the feature to turn that off.

I just bought this player I ordered it monday and it arrived today (thursday) Plastered all over the box and in the manual it says that it is region 2 and will only play region 2 discs -
Took it home unpacked it. plugged it in and put in my region 1 copy of Romeo Must Die..and lo and behold it refused to play it!

I can find nowhere any region changing information.

Am I misssing something?
Guess I`ll be on the phone to Scan technical support 1st thing tommorrow morning

Magnum,

Did you ever manage to sort this problem out? I have just bought one of these Scan players as well and am having the same problem.

Under the review for this machine on DVD Reviewer, it does tell you how to set up this functionality, but I have tried this and it does not work.

Please let me know how you got on.

The Batch I had mine from had RGB problems and the option to remove macrovision was taken out, The batch after that had subtitle problems but macrovision disable was included, If you are telling me that the latest batch are not even multiregion, Then this player isnt even worth the new price of 150 and should be avoided until some one in scan garuntee`s you it is multiregion!

I sent my scan back and got a refund, now have a Hitachi 505 and well pleased.

OOooopps!!

After posting on this forum last night, I tried one last time to get this to work - this time with my `brain` switched ON!

The instructions for setting multi region as listed in the DVD Reviewer review on this machine work fine.

Hope I haven`t put anyone off this machine, as I think that it is quite superb! Unfortunately, it is not idiot proof!

I need a holiday.....
