2 weeks in America. Absolutely shattered! :)

Just done two weeks in Florida with the family.  Bit of a downer now but truly the holiday of a lifetime.  We've not been to America since '96 (pre kids..) so to go again was just amazing.
We stayed onsite at a Disney resort (Saratoga Springs) and made the most of seemingly every second..  We did..... Magic Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Epcot, Seaworld, Aquatica, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Busch Gardens!!
Did everything we wanted to do and had planned everything in advance (even booked Fastpasses for Disney in advance so we could ride without queueing).  Did the new Harry Potter Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios but the Transformers ride was just astonishingly, jaw droppingly good.  Huge screens, projecting 3D video while sitting in cars moving in perfect sync to the action gave a sense of immersion I've never felt anything else gets close to.
We even managed to do a 'soft opening' of Falcon's Fury at Busch Gardens.  Lifted over 3 hundred feet in the air, tilted to face downwards and plunged to the ground at about 60mph.  Hanging face down 3 hundred feet up was pretty scary for me...  Wife wouldn't do it - but the two kids' grins were just amazing - right through the holiday in fact.  Which is what it's all about right?

Need this week off to recuperate!

just got back from Florida too Ste (flew back Tuesday) so we were
there probably the same time as you.

first week, we did 4 of the Orlando theme parks, and agree that
the HP & Transformers rides were astonishing... loved 'em.

walking around those parks in the heat and humidity is hard work
though isn't it?

second week we drove down to Clearwater and had a more relaxed
part of the holiday. did Busch Gardens that week too. Falcon was closed
when we went though.

did a bit of fishing on Caladesi Island, and spent quite a bit of time at
the wife's uncles house in Dunedin.... brilliant :)

Jealous guys, had a holidays there in 97 and 98 (rained a lot 98) and loved it.

I am quite saddened by the loss of a lot of the 'other' local attractions that Disney have killed off in I-Drive and Kissimee with their stay on site holidays though. :(

How much did the hols cost if you don't mind me asking?

RIP Julie & Maisie

Very jealous, but glad you had a good time :-)

Puts my 6 days in Butlins leaving tomorrow to shame! ;-)

Lots.  And lots.  But the memories are soooo worth it.
