Appalling. The Hospital claims not to have disciplined Mrs Saldanha (Mrs - it gets steadily worse). Just awful.

Married with 2 kids.

Aussie DJs, not content with killing people by water retention, they now kill people by guilt.

I`d say it`s a bit of an assumption to jump to that conclusion, and probably a bandwagon that the UK media will be jumping on very quickly.

No-one knows any details about how or why she did it.
It`s just another incredibly sad event that will undoubtedly now be examined by the world & his dog :(
I feel incredibly sorry for her poor family who will be left to deal with it all.

The DJs only precipitated the situation. If the blame lies anywhere it`s the UK media`s foaming-mouth reaction to a perfectly innocent mistake.

Not in the slightest. This is my opinion, and not one formed after reading reams of tabloid `opinion` on the matter. I don`t read tabloids anyway, I don`t bother paying attention to what I`m wiping my arse with.

The fact is, before this oh-so-hilarious prank, the nurse in question was just another person, getting on with life, albeit in a rather high-profile hospital. The Aussies pull the prank, she is humiliated, first on a personal level, then when the radio station starts-a-gloating about their amazing conquest, and other agencies repeat the story, that humiliation becomes very public, on a global scale.

The DJ`s did not put a gun to her head, a noose around her neck, or pills in her stomach, but they triggered a sequence of events that led to this mother`s suicide, and they should be held accountable. If they had not pulled this prank, two children would still have a mother.

If it turns out that she had severe personal problems and was on the verge of suicide anyway, then fair enough, but I agree with Pete completely on this one.

My husband came home laughing his head off because he`d heard about the prank on the radio, and my first reaction was anger at the stupid DJs for being so insensitive. I wondered how the nurses that fell for it must have been feeling, and feared for their jobs.

When I heard this news, I was so angry, as I could completely see how those DJs` moment of stupidity could result in a tragedy like this. If the nurse`s family confirm that she had been completely destroyed by guilt as a consequence of the prank, it should go to court and the DJs should be held fully responsible.

I had quite a strong disagreement with a Facebook friend about it, who said it was not their fault at all, and they were just making comedy on the radio, and if you punish them for that, you are destroying humour. My response was that you can have plenty of good humour without humiliation. He didn`t respond again after that.
