Austerity, tighten belts, no money left, dont make me laugh !
Well Cameron and his weathy cronies keep telling us to tighten our belts, there is no money left, your standard of living will just have to fall.
Well today in the news we find they are considering 17 Billion Pounds to make a high speed rail link from London to Birmingham, all to save half an hour per journey.
So the joke is on us, as money can be found when it needs to be found.
All this austerity tripe and tighten our belts is all ment for joe blogs on the street to be kept as work slaves, and tied to your workplace. A touch of the old forelock,
I for one see right through Camerons ploy at keeping the masses down once again, accepting no pay rises, accepting high food prices and petrol prices. But we are getting very angry about it, with our standard of living going down the tubes.
I would give the country another few months and it will be us lot in Parlement square demonstrating and shouting this BAD regime out, but then would our troops open fire on us, YES, as they did it before in the 1930`s.

But we are getting very angry about itWhich will manifest itself with a slight nod of the head and a Tut.
The chance of armed insurrection on the streets of the capital are as close to zero as makes any odds.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary

I`ll be there, if it`s not too cold, or raining, or there is something good on telly.

That really sums up whats left of our Dunkirk spirit.
A few people turning up at Parlement square shaking our brollys and shouting boo humbug :D
Yes, Thatcher definately defeated our `get up and go` at demonstrating, its now `got up and went` :(

This being the same HST link announced by Labour 3 years ago? The one that was going to cost £34bn?
Are you actually aware that in order to stimulate the ecomony then you sometimes have to spend money in order to save it? How many people would this project employ that currently are not in work, or that are in work and would swap jobs thus leaving other vacancies open?
This is old news anyway, so hardly a surprise.
BTW, I`m pretty much open minded to this project but remember the current disbelief that the cut in Public Sector jobs would not be taken up by the private sector? Well those jobs have to come from somewhere and something constructive.
I`m trying not to be purely party political here, but it`s so hard when the opening arguement is clearly biased against the incumbent Government even when it`s an inherited idea/policy.

If you`ve got a small arsenal stashed away and are planning on storming Downing street let me know.
I`ll get down there with the camera. Exclusive rights on that should see me earn enough to ease the debts a bit.

What he said, one of the reasons this country is so f***ed up is how absolutely shockingly bad our infrastructure is, rail, road, are both poor beyond belief when you compare it to europe and the usa and overpriced into the bargain

Just one small quote I heard today, can`t remember what `expert` they were interviewing.
Apparently it`s projected by some independent organisation or other that it will generate twice as much as it will cost.
Which sounds great untilt the same guy says that there are a number of other projects on hold that will generate six times as much as they cost which begs the question why aren`t they taking precedence.

I used to think you made wise comments, but now I see that you are a total mumty, saying drivel and attacking OP before you even look into the facts.
Do you not reaslise that the UK govement used troops on the UK population during the 1930`s depression. Look it up.
They sent Scottish troops to England to quel demonstrations, using horses, battons and even guns. Similarly they sent English troops to Scotland to do the same,
I`m not sure what the Welsh did :D
