50" Panasonic Plasma - How much would you pay?

dusty321 (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 29th December 2010, 11:34

Hey people, say for example you went into Comet and spotted a PANASONIC TX-50U10B
ex display without the remote, stand or power lead how much (be realistic) would tempt you to buy?

Costco sold one up here ages ago complete ex-display for £550.
Trawl the forums and you should find the thread I posted it into.

Most Panny remotes are generic but there may be specific features embedded in the right remote for the unit, but I`d expect between £30 to £100 for a replacement so worth ringing Panny first and asking for the spare price (I know when we had a unit missing remote instore we checked the price for the new one and either ordered it up to complete the unit and discount less, or just took the discount to 10% of the set and if the remote was more expensive that was the Purchaser`s look out)

Stand is nothing if you`re gonna wall mount and about £70 IIRC to buy (I have my 50PZ70 pedestal in the loft)
Power lead is a kettle lead but MAKE SURE the set is working 100% before you even think of taking it.

Might also be worth looking up the Comet Clearance Centre numbers to see if they have one (one is in PossilPark Glasgow, can`t remember the other down south) as they generally cut the prices to shreds or may have a spare remote kicking around.

[edit] found the link, it was £580 with 5 year gtee included http://www.dvdreviewer.co.uk/Forums/Hardware/t805845/Which_46_TV_to_buy/page1 [/editoff]

I`m not sure I`d buy an ex-display plasma anyway.
When you add where it`s from and what`s missing it would have to be very, very little...

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Don`t want plasma.
But if it was offered to me for £150.00, I`d be tempted.
No more though.
I`m simply not that interested in plasma to spend more.

Forgot to mention, it will come with 12 months manufactures warranty - don`t know if I could get the the extra 4 years warranty if I ask Panasonic nicely :D

Well I got a brand new panasonic plasma 40 inch with remote no stand, the stand and the installation was extra, I spend on it just the plasma for about 525.00 in american dollars.I t wasn`t in Sam`s club., it was a place call Best Buy. To me that doesn`t sound like a bad deal.

You should take your blinkers off.
Maybe you`d see why massive plasmas are cheap as chips these days.
