OPERA

Does anyone here use the OPERA browser and if so what are the pros and cons?

I`m getting a bit fed up with Firefox timing itself out or cannot find a link, and yes I have checked for malaware and bad stuff.

I don`t know the ins and outs, but I could never get on with Opera. Try downloading Google Chrome and giving that a go - you can even get adblock for it now, so it is my "back up" browser for any sites with seem problematic with Firefox. :)

I`m starting to use Chrome as my browser of choice.

I recently started getting probs with Firefox, so wiped out my profile and started again. It`s better, but still not as quick as Chrome.

And as Sue says, you can now get extensions for them (such as AdBlock, Xmarks etc.)
However, it still doesn`t have a "NoScript" extension which is a very useful one for blocking dodgy malware. So careful browsing needed (as always I guess!)

EDIT: Forgot the essential "FlashBlock" extension (for both browsers).
Flash can kill battery life on laptops/netbooks - so I always disable it via Flashblock, and then only enable the stuff I actually want to see.

Firefox is still my Num 1 broswer

I found the adblock stuff you can get in chrome  is nowhere near as good as adblockplus in firefox and there`s a few things about chrome  i don`t like, such as you can`t open all bookmakrs in a folder automatically.

I use opera occasionaly, prefer it to Chrome, with fanboy`s adblocklist adblocking is great, still don`t like it as much as firefox. It runs a bit faster on my old PII450 though than firefox.

I use Firefox still, partly because of the webdev tools. But these days, you should be able to easily switch between Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari without encountering problems with sites. Obviously IE8 will look fine, but it is such a horrible browser... :)

I do use Opera, but mainly for its email handling. The browser isn`t bad but I do find that I have to use Firefox or Chrome for some sites.

I do like Chrome, from the little that I have used it, and will try to use it more.

My frustration with Firefox tends to come from the memory usage, which is something they have failed to control.

Firefox still works fine for me and in the event I have problems with a site the IE button usually sorts it out.

Only thing that hacks me off is not the fault of Firefox but a mag I subscribe to (Digital Photo) puts photoshop video tutorials on disc every month and they still haven`t sorted them to play on Firefox

I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
