General Forum
RIP Ian.
I know some of us get sick of all the RIP threads that appear on here (seperate forum?) but I can`t let this gentleman, as that`s what he was, pass without comment.
I`ve spent my entire life watching this guy in more TV and film appearances than I can count.
The original Wooster to Dennis Price as Jeeves on TV. Later in life as Lord Peter Wimsey which was also done very well for radio.
The obvious film role that`s mentioned in the obit, All Right Jack, though my favourite was School for Scoundrels with Alistair Simm.
I wont miss him as the vast body of work is still available to watch and I never met the man but for those friends and relatives of his I imagine there`s a large hole in their life.
Snaps
Every Third Car
I used to be with it, but then they changed what `it` was.
Now, what I`m with isn`t it, and what`s `it` seems weird and scary
I like the RIP threads, sometimes I have to google the names in order that the old memory gets a kick, but it often makes me seek out and watch old TV and Films I`d forgotten.

I have to say though, the RIP threads are too random. J D salinger died last week...
Not even a mention. He wrote one of the greatest American books ever

Begs the question why you didn`t post yourself, if you had such respect for the man... ;)
Live a life you love, use a god you trust, and don`t take it all too seriously
couple of fairly obvious reasons for that:
a) I wasnt coming on the site when it happened
b) i considered his death in quiet dignity
Another one bite`s the dust. Good innings though. Just had to see his face to let the faint memories come back. Came from a different era to most of us but he made his mark allright.
RIP Ian
Pete :)

Call me a pedant, but you did post it (albeit belatedly) on a public forum, so bang goes the quiet dignity.
Perhaps your very comment answers the question as to why such postings are so random :D

how so?

I see your point. Sometimes might just be a case of not bothering to post(I don`t mean this in a negative sense). We`d have to have an Obituary Forum to keep up with everyone that dies. My post re the death of Bill McLaren got one reply - now surely there cannot only be 2 people on this forum who admired/respected this guy. One day I will read Catcher in the Rye.
