Box Office failing to reply

vidall (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 3rd January 2002, 17:30

I ordered 2 DVDs from DVD Box Office at the start of Nov, they still haven`t arrived. I have emailed them 3 times but they won`t reply to them. What next? Can anyone help?

Strangely enough, I`d just emailed them myself about 5 mins before reading your posting (about an hour ago). They replied within about 40 minutes!

Got a dvd from them today, it was sent on the 15th December via France. Forward from France on the 20th.

So the main delay seem to be Royal Mail at the moment.

I ordered Jurassic Park DTS ages ago from them and it never turned up initially.

I emailed them and got an individual email address to keep in touch. It was obviously lost in the post after 2 months so they sent out another one which arrived in about 7 days. Not too bad. I know a few firms that would neglect responsibility after despatch.

Failing to reply is that all!!!

I won an auction on QXL that was held by DVDBOXOFFICE for x-men £12

after approx 6-7 e-mails with no reply. I decided to call them. They were very sorry and took my c/c details.

Guess what after 2 weeks no money taken from my account and no DVD.

Called them again - very sorry as usual......2 weeks later no DVD and no money taken.

Conclusion......approx £3.50 on phone calls and nothing

In my expereince, DVDBO can be very hit and miss -

I have used them a few times (single figures), and sometimes they will send a disk out quickly (reaches you in a week), and sometimes it takes a few weeks. Sometimes the disk is a shaker, or is scratched (looks used!!), and sometimes perfect.

Only thing is to keep bugging them via email/phone.

They really should have improved their customer service by now - it`s been over a year since I ordered from them.

I`ve ordered about 20 discs from them and I have to say I have no qualms about their service.

Discs have generally arrived within 2 weeks or less - not too bothered about getting it a week earlier if it would cost more.

They have always been sealed, can`t recall having a scratched disc, all of mine are in mint condition still now so they couldn`t have been scratched originally.

Emails have generally been responded to pretty quickly. I sent about 7 separate emails over the course of one day, each one being replied to within 15 minutes!

For DVDs I think they are great, if you don`t mind about waiting for 7-10 days for them. But I ordered 2 GBA games and they still haven`t been dispatch after 2 months! so I had to cancel them.
