vcds what are they where can you get them .
a friend of mine who knows someone told me about vcds and said he got hold of a copy of lord of the rings and black hawk down on vcd how where from and how much i dont know but he lent me the nicole kidman film the others last night it was on 2 discs but played ok and was watchable what do people think or are they fake like the old pirate vhs from way back .

cd rom functions normal ie . i can play cds and games etc but no dvd i am stuck .

have looked in systems and there was my cdrom with a plus next to it i clicked that and it said mashita dvdrom sr-8583 so it is there but do not know how to get to it . also when i put a dvd in it brings up a interactual player when i click on play it says no dvd and no it is not that i am playing the wrong region . i was operating a power dvd before and it was found in my program files but cannot be found anywhere . more help please.!!!!!!

i recently had to reboot my pc as i had a worm virus and was told the only way to get rid was to do a reboot which i did but that was last year in november and have recently moved house so my pc is all i can watch my dvds on at the moment but i placed a disc in and message was that it was unable to play disc i searched for my dvd player and could not find it anywhere have i lost it forever or do i need a disc to install my dvd back on to the pc any help would be appreciated.

i am awaiting a copy of swordfish i emailed them and they said they do not start taking action on lost dvds international orders until you have been waiting 8 weeks as i am only been waiting a month for my dvd .i will let you know what happens
multi region ,macro disable ,dts, 5.1, surround setup, advice
there are so many to choose from out there at a reasonable price but which is the best i have around £500 to spend on a system with all of the above but do not know which one to pick do i go budget (grundig) or mid range (hitachi ,aiwa XRDV700 not sure if multi reg) or top of range sony help is what is needed to sway me as i have listened to most and all sound amazing .

the video does have a scart and yes i have already done the region hack and turned off the macro but you did not mention where the sky digi box goes or does that not interfere with this anyway i will not be able to try this till xmas day so thanks for the tip it sounds like it will work but what will picture quality be like ..

i have just bought a dansai 852 for my sister and family for xmas but have found out that her tv has only 1 scart position and that is taken up by her sky digibox how do i setup her tv ,video sky and dvd into 1 scart .any help would be great ..
Help Needed on my setup!!!!!!!!!
i have just recently purchased a LG3200e dvd player great i thought .i did the region code hack great it worked i then started to watch my first imported dvd "the matrix" knowing of the problems some people have with this disc i watched nervously as the disc started but it played but i did notice that the screen kept on going lighter and then darker my wife did not notice this but i did and it was very off putting but i put it down to it being this specific disc and also thought this may be as a consequence of not buying a more expensive player , i then went and imported a copy of "what lies beneath" and the same thing is happening also the sound tends to jump around from speaker to speaker again i put this down to it being an imported disc until i put in ali gs disc which was not imported again the same thing happens light then dark please help me i am thinking that my player may be faulty my setup is i have a 32"inch toshiba pro logic tv with a sky digibox and video setup my dvd is connectted to my tv through the 3 phono plugs provided and is on avchannel 3 which is the best setup for this system helpme please.
