So does anyone belive this global warming claptrap?
The current advert for saving electricity/recycling uses 100% recycled film clips. One of the clips is from a conference in 1992 when a teenage girl says "my children may never see the rainforests" (or something close)
Well its 16yrs later and she probably has kids * and there are still rain forests around.
*maybe even grandkids!!!

I think we`d be stupid to say that there is no effect but I think it may be taken OTT and over hyped by many of the quangos ( cynically i;d suggest they`d have to a bit in order to look to extend funding etc to pay their salaries)

No, but do understand something is happening. Every planet has a life-cycle so maybe `earth` has started on its final phase with a meltdown of some description even though it may take many thousand of years to happen. It was always going to happen with or without us on the planet.
The thing that p***es me off is that the government and local councils play on this fact and call it global warning and then implement higher taxes and say `they are trying to save the planet`
Just an excuse to raise more coffers for them.

I don`t think we should be forced to panic about it as much as we are. As has rightly been pointed out, the Earth goes in natural cycles from hot to cold and back again. Our presence here is irrelevant in that respect.
But something is definitely happening. What about the iceberg that broke away from Antartica last year and floated off New Zealand`s coast? We can easily sit here and say "Oh, New Zealand isn`t far from Antartica", but it had never happened before, and it became a major tourist attraction, with people traveling to it by helicopter to get married on it!
Also, after 9/11, when the US grounded their planes for a week or so, the air temperature across North America dropped by a couple of degrees across the board, proving that all those planes are warming up the atmosphere with their exhaust.

I thought i saw Jeremey Clarkson program called Inventions that changed the world - Jet Engine where he said the opposite! Not that I would trust Clarkson as a source of truth.

I read an article stating that the sky above New York actually changed colour, as a result of the flying ban, to a much deeper blue.

Wonder if Ella can recall?
I would have thought it turned darker due to the dustcloud that descended with the collapse. That made a hell of a mess! :o

:¦
I read alot of news on that , many conflicting reports on that, you really wonder whats real or not. When just when you start to believe in one report you read about another conflicting the other, leaving you to wonder now what!!??

that still does not proove that mankind directly caused it (not to say they didnt mind)

Lets assume the decrease was due to the lack of aircraft. Id still suggest that the exhaust would not be totally (if at all) responsible for the temperature decrease. The engines etc would produce a great deal of heat given the immense power they are generating, on top of that the friction/drag caused by the plane travelling through the air would also be likely to create additional heat

Teenage girls are over-dramatic, therefore global warming is claptrap.
"May" means "will".
Good to know.
