Page 1 of When do speeding points come off yr license?

I got some points on the following dates of conviction:

09/10/02 - 3 points-date of offence : 09/10/02 (dates of conviction box is empty on my license)
07/10/03 - 3 points - date of offence: 24/04/03
10/06/04 - 5 points - date of offence: 01/10/03

Can anyone tell me when these points come off...
Also is the time measured from the date of conviction or the date of offence?
lastly do i have to write to the dvla to ask for the points to be removed....in which case do i get a new license or what?

To the best of my knowledge, it`s 4 years - which reminds me, i`ve got 3 points than can get scrubbed off mine

from date of conviction, basically three points will come off you licence after 4 years. under my calculations the first two convictions are spent... however without knowing what the 5 points were for, they may still be active!

the five points were for an sp30.....i think i was doing 96 in a 70......as i already had 6 points by then i had to go to court and ask not to get 6 points for that single conviction. I got 5 points and a £300 fine....

Does that mean they are now spent too? :)

Is it not the case that the points expire after 3 years, can be taken off your licence after 4 years and get ignored by insurance companies after 5 years

My insurance company ignored my SP30 3 points after the three years had expired.
