:B I hate voice mail and call waiting, It`s the most rude invention on earth! It`s easy not to get that person you need to hear so much from when it`s an important matter.What ever happen to customer service with a direct call to that person., or even an live operator.I was on hold for 30 mins , then got disconnected.Is it like that in the UK also?

& then you get through to India.......(says he who works in a dept where the prospect of a call to HP is met with the required visit to make a cuppa tea & settle down with a light snack, while waiting for the VM messages to cease & then try to understand the muted volume & accent of the indian when you do get connected to a real life person) my personal record is 45 mins of tea drinking\waiting on hold for a laptop warrenty problem.




I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I hate answering the phone at work - It disturbs my sleep.

I have a fax machine in the house, which can put people on hold and plays that awful electronic version of Greensleeves at them. I have used that on quite a few call centre sales people over the years - JUSTICE!!! 8)

I love those auto dialled calls you get :D

I wait until they answer and then pretend to be vm :p

or have a chat about where they are from and how many companies they are acting for and how little pay they are getting.

Have anyone here had a weird thing happen like,I`m on the phone speaking to a friend for a while, all of the sudden my fax takes my call into the machine and I can`t no longer get to my caller. , So I have to hang up n still hear then trying to talk to me thru my fax machine really odd, so i have to disconnect that n call them back , lol really weird. Anyone here ever had that happen, if so what am I doing wrong? :/

Slightly off topic, but for some ideas of how to deal with telemarketers you could search youtube for examples by Tom Mabe.
If you haven`t heard them before, they`re quite funny.
