Page 1 of Wasps ! ! !
General Forum
Theres hundreds of them buzzing at side of my house.
Cant let kid play in garden, cant leave windows open, cant put washing out to dry and, cant get to bin cause they`re all over that too.
Phoned council to report them and they will be out to deal with them at end of August.
So, if the wasps hang around till then, it will be nearly six weeks before my bin will have been emptied.
Told council this but the wouldnt budge on the date!!!!!!
If you ring the WEA helpline on 0800 999WASP and give your location we`ll deploy a small thermonuclear device which should take care of your problem.
The WEA take no responsibility for any damage to your house or the surrounding area which may result from deployment of said nuclear weapon.

You could always pay a pest control expert to dispose of them yourself, as the council seem too busy or whatever to do so. ;)
It`s not written in blood that they must sort everything out that goes wrong at your home.

You`d be amazed how many council tenants believe this is the case though.
We have one here.
Honestly, every little thing from smoke detectors to loose kitchen doors are the council`s problem andhe has to take time off to wait for their repair men.
Don`t start me on the right to buy their council homes at reduced prices...just don`t... ;)

And don`t start me on the new force Housing Associations who have some jumped up clause in their agreements that REMOVE the right-to-buy option from Council Tenants.
Why does that f*** me off?
Mother. 60-odd years Council. Wouldn`t let me buy the house for her although it would have been peanuts.
Paid some stupid amount per month in Rent (more than even a mortgage would have been at the time) for the last 60 odd years.
Now, GHA have moved in. House is going to be demolished even though no tenant in the street is happy at that. Those who purchased are being given what they PAID plus whatever they have deemed to improve, NOT the market value.
Tenants are NOT being given a definite they will be moved back in. NOT guaranteed a house in the same street only another house.
Already tried to shunt her to two streets nearby that you`d need a Rottweiler with an elastic band round it`s knob on every window to feel safe.
Nothing at all to do with the fact that the two sides of the street and the block they`re pulling down happens to have gardens which are in the regions of 100ft square behind them.
Nothing to do with that could make a cul-de-sac for every 4 they pull down.
Oh, and they`re making them 1 bedroom flats...."so the older people are nearer the shops."
Bollox they are. All about profit and how much they can stuff into their grubby little pockets.
Oh..hang on...I said don`t get me started ;)

Well, i`ve just had my first ever wasp-sting. Well, i say `just` it was about 1pm. Picked up some lifting straps and thought I`d impaled my finger in a piece of glass or something, had a look there`s a wasp on my finger looking all scared and defenceless. So i killed it, the git.
Finger still swollen, had to take my wedding ring off or I could have had some problems.
