Eurovision Bloc Voting Contest

alfie noakes (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 12th May 2007, 21:46

I am watching some of the voting... so far UK has nowt... we definitely were not the worst. (only saw a bit admittedly).

Eastern Europe votes for Eastern Europe, Scandinavia votes for Scandinavia, Iberia votes Iberia, etc. No-one will vote for the UK because they all hate us. Fine, don`t have a problem with that, but it becomes a complete joke when it`s no longer any sort of real competition.

I vote we don`t do it any more (what`s the point, after all) and we take our money with us.

Could just have a civil war and split up into loads of little countries and then we`d have a fighting chance. (When we`ve stopped killing each other, obv)

If these c***s don`t like us why do they come here to live. Is it because we have toilets
. Assholes.

I`ve watched most but not all ot the Eurovision Song contest since 1962 & I am so disgusted at the present voting system I hope we pull out. It has gone beyond a farce. I didn`t like our entry but it was much better than most of the crap parading as music tonight. I prefered the Russian & Turkish songs. Both a million times better than the dyke song.

The `winning` song was a total dirge, I`ve gotta say.

You`ll also notice the love affair with `quaint little Ireland` is now over - they came last - there are poorer countries to patronise now.

Western Europe has no chance now and considering that it`s France, Britain, Spain and Germany that foot the bill, it`s probably time to ask for our ball back.

...I liked the Russians... apparently they sang a song too...

Its time the BBC pulled its massive funding budget from this farce. This year has got to be the worst for voting, and i thought last year was bad!.
Scooch are not the best by any means but there was some dire shi*e on.
The song seems to be a minor issue, if any when the votings taken into account.
Just be proud in the fact that UK music sells shed loads all over the world whereas when was the last time you heard of a single from any of those countries.
Do Serbia have a U2, Muse, or Radiohead or any other big selling act?
Time to call it a day and let them have "The Baltic States Song Contest"

If we have to have it all, please stick it on BBC 2\3\4\5.

Would rather have watched DW - Fear her or even (the expected to be crap on the basis of Torchwood CC scripts) 42.

Its a joke when the singers are more famed for cross -dressing or sexuality* issues over the song itself.

& I didn`t actually watch it, prefering to float in\out of THO catching up on Midsomer Murders backlog on Sky+.

*At that point I was going to make a reference to Cliff Richard but thought better of it.

It is a farce, you could easily forget about the songs and have a 10 minute show with just the votes because there are so many countries that vote for each other regardless of the song. The only way forward is to either change the voting system somehow

or just say sod ya and pull our cash out of it and leave the eastern european backslappers to cary on without us
