I done this last November. Just used the song that we had our 1st dance to and another song we both assosiate with the birth of our daughter. Set the show to last the same length as the 2 songs. Easy. Had about 65 pictures on it and it lasted just about 7 mins i think. Plenty long enough.
The songs where was:
Wedding = Simply Red - You Make Me Feel Brand New
Daughter = Aerosmith - Dont want to miss a thing (this was the first song on the radio in my car when i left the hospital after Grace was born) Wasn`t until after about a year when i watched the film i realised the girls name in the film was Grece too. :o

Er....thanks for your suggestions but I was thinking more on the lines of classical music as opposed to rampant noise by metal bands!!!!
You could use movie music. A lot of stuff by John Barry works well. Off the top of my head there is "Chaplin" (it is very melodic, not at all silent film type music), "Out of Africa", "Somewhere in Time" (very popular). There is a collection here with a good selection.
All the best for the wedding too. :)

Tchaikovsky`s 1812 will wake them up, then there`s his Romeo & Juliet. However to be a little down to earth. An old pop song no one has heard of by `Bobby Vee` it is a beautiful song & it`s called ` This Is Your Day`.
Suppose it all depends on what mood you want to set up with this music - as I`m sure people would feel differently about being reminded about the day if it was accompanied by the theme to `Psycho` as opposed to some nice baroquey stuff.
Are you looking for the music to change a lot? This would mean some heavy editing as the nature of classical music doesn``t really lend itself to nice sound-bytes to suit a slide-show..
How about the slow movement to Mozart`s C major Piano Concerto (No.21)?...loads of recordings out there in CD-land, and has a `nostalgic` feel to it.
Unless you`re after something more lively...in which case I shall think again, but you`re probably best off sticking to Baroque/Classical stuff as the mood doesn`t change as often as later music. The Romeo and Juliet mentioned before is fine if you realise that a lot of it is a headlong rush full of razzing brass and cymbal clashes....mind you, could be a reflection of the day itself :D
