A very good point - Signed.
I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
RE: Debt: Not in front of the children
done!, now where do i sign to get rid of the ringtone adverts?
RE: Debt: Not in front of the children

RE: Debt: Not in front of the children
Great idea- I`m really sick of those patronising adverts-" I couldn`t have done it without... a company that rips me off for one `affordable monthly payment` " Debt advice is freely available from the CAB and arrangemtns with creditors can be set up by the individual rather than some make-a-buck-a-minute company.

arrangemtns with creditors can be set up by the individual rather than some make-a-buck-a-minute company If you make the effort to get in contact with people and discuss the problem then they are usually fairly reasonable and will try to help you, coz in the long run there is no point in them taking you to court coz they`ll wind up getting they`re money back 50p per week. There really is no need to pay someone else hundreds of pounds in the long run for making a few phone calls.
Signed - back to brainwashing the kids that they just have to have the most expensive toys and clothes and trendy bits an bobs around then! ;)
RE: Debt: Not in front of the children
An admirable cause, but the gold is in this quote on the site:
Quote:
"My partner`s wants to buy a car. My eldest son (age 8) pipes up `go to Yes Car Credit, as anyone can get a car off them`.
"I said `oh yes, and what exactly should we use to pay them back` and he said "don`t worry, they make sure it`s an affordable monthly payment".

RE: Debt: Not in front of the children
As annoying as these adverts are, rather than banning I wish that advertising rules stated they would have to give a clear example of what you pay for what you borrow, over how many years...
...IN BIG BOLD LETTERS...
And it has to be as big as the phone number, and they aren`t allowed to use weeks or months, they must state it in years.
In one of them, they do give the example in tiny writing at the bottom of the page, and it is £20,000 to you, £50,000 payed back to them, over 10 years. Even the most mathematically challenged amongst us would see that was bad if they were given the chance to read it.
