The dangers of `happy slapping`
is that one day you will do it to some `right hard b*****d` (or in this case his girlfriend) who ends up kicking the bejesus out of you and your mate!
nice to see them get their just deserts.

RE: Texas Hold `em
I have tried pretty much every site and have found PokerStars to have the best action (sit and go`s fill up fast) and a range of tournaments and ring games to fit every pocket.
But recently I have tried Full Tilt again and found it to be quite good. Actually it`s worth signing up just to watch the Pro`s play at the high stakes tables and watching costs nothing.
Anyone who watches Poker on TV, try to catch High Stakes Poker, Best Poker show ....ever!

This thread seems to be more about adolescent kids boasting about their girlfriends (whether they exists or not) rather than about Sudoku, very sadd indeed.
hmmmmm, well at 35 i think i have passed adolecence...............

Nice.............should score some brownie points with the OG (Old Girl)
House
Happened to catch an episode of House on Channel 5 last night. I have been watching the second series from the states and noticed that the theme music has been changed for the UK.
Anyone got any clues as to why, just seamed a little odd to me!

when are you guyz going to cotton on to the fact that by using bittorrent software, you could basically be done for distributing stolen goods (if you are a seeder and not a leecher, but even then... ) - you`re leaving a trail of IP numbers all over the internet....
What ever you do on the internet you will leave a trail of IP adresses, dosn`t matter how many proxies etc... you go through if someone wants to find you they will....you can make it harder for them but at the end of they they will find you!

No, i will not tell you what it is :)
RE: RIP
I purchased one of the dual DVD players from Asda (DVD-860) and it has played almost everything i have thrown at it (mpeg4 modifer is a must for DIVX, as most stuff has to unpacked for the player, but it only takes a min or 2 so it`s no big hastle). Can`t find any details of it on the web for firmware upgrades, i have e-mailed Asda but had no reply as yet as yet......
RE: At the risk of offending...(Adults: caution advised)
I think this quote from the great sage `Dave Lister` sums this up quite well:
`Religion, just an excuse for people to be crappy to each other`
Move along people nothing to be seen here!

Dual DVD860 standalone DVD (DIVX \ XVid compatable) £40 from Asda
Picked up one of these on Saturday and it appears to be a new model ( I can only find reference to the dvd 859 on the web). It`s shaping up to be a cracking little player! it has played everything i have thrown at it in terms of dvd -r`s, CDR`s and CDRW`s. has played all the Xvids i have thrown at it without to much of a hitch (I had to unpack the bitstream on my episodes of lost, the main reason for buying the player).
it`s one of these mirrored front players with bluey neon buttons that are illumlated, the tray is a bit flimsy but it does the job.
it also has a compact flash / SD card slot in the front as well (i think it might be a 6 in 1, but i am at work and can`t remember the exact details)

RE: Going to Vegas
If it`s not to late may I suggest Bally`s as a hotel, great location Next to Paris and across the road from Caesars palace and the Belagio(don't forget to see the fountains at night) it also has the largest rooms on the Strip and as it has no 'theme' it is surprisingly cheep for it's location.. Avoid Circus Circus as a hotel, to many children and they have their own trailer park at the back, Nuff said. But do go and visit the theme park (get there early 10am ish when it opens, and you can `do` all the big rides in about 30 mins!). The Luxor is nice but kinda at the wrong end of the strip, but as I haven't been to Vegas since they installed to monorail I would imagine with the monorail in place it`s a breeze to get around the various hotels. If you are looking to impress the woman in your life then you must head to the Venetian for a Gondola ride, do the inside ride much nicer and you don`t get fried by the Vegas heat! Again if you get there when the ride opens you will normaly get a gondola to yourself (they seat 4 you normally have to pay extra for one to yourself). As a previous poster mentioned go downtown for the Fremont street experience and you can get more gambling for your money as they tend to have lower table limits. Don't be tempted to walk to down town from the strip it's a bloody long way and you have to walk through some unsavoury neighbourhoods. The strip is a pretty safe place to walk both day and night as is Freemont Street, but some of the areas off Freemont Street are not so nice. If you get time go to the Barbary coast hotel (next to Bally`s and opposite Caesers) in the afternoon for the Big Elvis show, great free show and you will see one of the `biggest` attraction in Vegas (the guy weighs like 50 stone!).
As you can guess I am a bit of a Vegas nut, if you choose to ignore all my advice please don`t ignore this:
Wear comfortable shoes!
RE: Help iPOD Mini with folder and exclamation mark on the front!
on mac OS9 if you were greeted by a folder with a question mark on power up it meant that the OS could not be found........
RE: Babies and crying...... why?
It`s intresting reading the views on dummy`s, these were my views also before the birth of my son, what changed my mind? one word Colic.
And when I say Colic i mean severe Colic, it was not unusal for us to be up all night, with maybe both of us (my wife and I) getting maybe 1 to 2 hours sleep per night.
after speaking to the midwives/ doctors and consulting t`internet, we brought some dummies, they did help. before when soothing William, although the crying stopped he was wide awake, with the dummy in place he actully slept!!!! and it meant we could sleep untill his next feed.
this along with a number of other recomendations we followed from the midwife/health visitor etc....... helped us make it through until the colic started to subside at about 3 months.
now he is as good as gold, he go`s to bed(in his own room) at 6.30 to 7 pm after his bath, and normaly my alarm and stumbling about getting ready for work wakes him at about 6:30 am.
as as the others have said routine is the key. bath, bottle, bed the mantra me and my wife chant!
he still has his dummy, but only when it`s time for bed or a nap, I am still not keen on it but we are trying to cut it out.
I do hope bassman that your young `un dosn`t have Colic, check the following links for more details.

I saw that some recomended Anbesol, it is exelent, but it does contain alcohol, for teething the calpol gel is very good. We were also blessed with William teething at 4 months as well!
RE: apple trailers

I`ve seen the video you link to.
There`s no way you`ll get me to support that.
Absolutely needless and not a good example.
well given that she was stopped for four offences, was then found to be driving without a licence and then refused to comply with the police officer requests. She was warned 4 times that if she did not comply she would be tasered. i think she was given plenty of warning.

some justice american style. IMO this woman got what she deserved and was given fair warning.
RE: Curry`s Gaurentee a waste of time !
to add my two penneth`s worth:
Proline is indeed a Comet `own` brand. so the retailer is also the manufacturer, i would suggest you you write to thier customer service dept, detail the dates of all your service calls and give them 14 days to respond or threaten them with the small claims court. Also send a copy to the local store manger, this should envoke a responce from either of them. The `its the manufacturers guarntee` excuse dosn`t wash most of the time, even with `name` brands like sony etc, as most of the major retailers `buy out` the warranty. this means the retailer handles all repairs as they get a better deal from the manufacturers when they purchase the goods from them.
RE: Muh Boy!!
congratulations!

If mine wakes up every 2 hours, can we swap?
he he, took a long time and a lot of sleepless nights before we got to this point. william suffered quite badly with colic, for those who dont know what colic is, you luck b*****ds! it basicly meant from about 5pm he was very unsettled, generaly reaching a peak at about 10pm howling the place down, and some nights going on until 3 to 4am. We tried all the `cures` recomended by the midwifes and health visitors none seamed to help him much. Colic is a unknown quantity, no one can say for sure what the cause is. I read on the net that it could be due to imature intestines. I also observed when winding William (i sat him upright on my knee with one hand under his chin supporting his head and the other hand patting/rubbing his back) he fell asleep, even during his most unsettled times. So we started to put him to sleep in his car seat and proped it against a wall so he was more upright and hey presto he started to sleep longer and once in that position stoped crying after 5 mins or so. they health visitor was not supprised by this and said every baby with colic was different and what works for some dosnt for others. Now he is fine and even sleeps lying down in his cot without problem.
RE: Hey....so all you new (ish) dads how are the babies?
Well my budle of joy (William) is over 3 months old now........at last over his colic (nightmare!!!!) and sleeping through the night (well from 8pm until about 6:30am. Loves to throw tantrums and has a cheeky grin that makes me think he is going to be a handfull as he get older. But all the sleepless nights and stress are forgoten in a flash when he smiles in the morning.

RE: can tv detector vans really detect?
well i can only tell what the father in law tells me, that they do return with warrants.
RE: can tv detector vans really detect?
yep, the detector vans do work, but from what i hear they are not used much now (Father in law is a licence man!). he gets a list of calls every week and he knocks on the door this is how most of the work is now done. you are right you dont have to let them but they do return with the police and a search warrent!
