Just had a text message on my home phone!

rockysafc (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 23rd March 2005, 00:10

A friend sent a text message on my home phone which was then translated back into a voice message. Have not been able to contact him about this yet. How does this work as I`ve never heard of this before? The message was funny as feck.

Was it the posh lady speaking?
It`s funny as hell if you use loads of obscene language :D

I don`t think you get charged for it, but I might be wrong (I usually am).

Yeah she was quite posh. That`s what made it sound so funny. Must have played it about 20 times tonite. (We don`t get out much in our household).
Can`t imagine i`ll get charged for it though. It did say if you want to hear the message again to phone a number but there`s not much point in that as it`s saved on our answerphone.

That`s *hilarious*, though I bet Telewest never get around to it. No way of texting *from* the house phone though, right?

I`ve had a few of those, it`s well funny when my loutish mackem brother does it and the posh lady has to read out his incomprehensible texts! At Chrimbo you could text #Jingle# or #merry# and the recipient would get Jingle Bells sung to them, and you could get Auld Lang Syne on New year`s Eve!! :D

It`s called BT text if you are a BT customer.

I think it`s automatc on all BT lines

No charge to recive texts on your home phone.

To listen to them again though, it`s a local rate call
