The effects of LSD..

"These 9 drawings were done by an artist under the influence of LSD -- part of a test conducted by the US government during it`s dalliance with psychotomimetic drugs in the late 1950`s. The artist was given a dose of LSD 25 and free access to an activity box full of crayons and pencils. His subject is the medico that jabbed him."

Think the 5th looks a bit Lennonesque..

I love the text that accompanies that drawing...

Upon completing the drawing the patient starts laughing, then becomes startled by something on the floor.

Hehehehehe - they really should have checked the floors for startling objects before they started giving people acid ;)

I remember dropping a tab of LSD a long time ago with a couple of mates. Part way through the evening, one of them left the room without saying a word, then came back in 5 minutes later and put a black bin bag in the middle of the floor.
I lasted about a minute before I had to ask what was in the bag.
He told me it was a pigs head, and for the next hour I was so freaked out by this that I have never touched the stuff since! I was too scared to leave the sofa to check what was in the bag, and they refused to show me. And it really messed with my mind.

In a sober state of mind, it`s not scary at all. But I still get a shiver up my spine thinking about it. Don`t do drugs kids!

(Turned out it was just a bag of rubbish)

LSD is one thing I`ve always resisted, I`m quite worried that I`d get irreversibly weirded out on that freaky s***!

Personally I found the effects of LSD to be very interesting. On a few occassions I`ve had some mild paranoia and a few strange sightings (the shadows of a plant kep turning into faces!) but apart from that its been......interesting.

The best time ever was on Halloween when 4 of us went on a ghost tour of chislehurst caves. My & my missus were on acid and the other two weren`t. I was convinced the caves were made from plastic and seemed to have some kind of time delay to reality going on! It was quite funny seeing these people dressed up as ghosts trying to scare us - i was just interested in the trails they were leaving behind them.

Hours of fun to be had with acid. One of my most powerful acid memories involved a chewy mint. We used to drop a tab and doss around; go to the flix, or to a party, or summer fetes, or just wander round gibbering. While gibbering in the middle of town one Saturday I started chewing a minty sweet. It seemed to last for days and became the most intense feeling of all pervading mintiness ever. I remember that the group of us were stoppped by a friendly but suspicious copper; all I could say to him was something like: "I`ve got a mint." He probably thought I was trying to tell him I was rich, or something. Other than that I couldn`t talk for about an hour (it seemed like) because my entire being was suffused with minty sweetness. When I finally finished it, I tried another, but it wasn`t the same.

Another time some mates were absolutely transfixed by the sight of an old chair that someone had abandoned next to a streetlight. They kept assuring each other that it was there in case the light wanted to sit down, then collapsing in hysterics.

The other thing about tripping in public is that you invariably attract weirdoes, who, naturally, seem even weirder when viewed through a psychedelic haze.
