Going to the US early 05 what should I get?
I`ve just found out I`m off to the US early next year and if you were in my position what would you get a DS or a PSP
DS is universal any cartridge and country, any news on the PSP this would be a big factor in my decision.
PSP Is it actually any good or does it have battery power as bad as I have heard.
At the moment I`m leaning towards the DS but the other thing I`m interested in is what would be the better deal. The UK always overprices compares to the dollar so how cheap do you think I`d be able to pick either of these up

Afaik PSP will be the same, and PSP definitely looks like the more monster of a handheld console, and it takes memory sticks which means there could be a nice emulator scene.

The PSP is the same as the DS in regards to being universal for games, if you buy a US PSP it will be able to run US, JAP and EUR games but it will only be able to run US movies.

Check out my other thread in this forum, in conclusion, if I really had to have just one, I would go for the PSP.

From what I`ve read, one machine has promise and potential for some new and original games and the other is full of `pose-ability` and will be marketed well.
Guess which one will be the success :/ :(
Isn`t battery life on the PSP on some games about 1 1/2 hours? :/

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

The DS will have some more unique titles, but in the main it will be Marioesque titles and the like.
Yes, the PSP is more pose-able, and more ports will appear, but I think that the shear power of the PSP will shine through.
Battery life, yes I have read the tests on ign, but I am averaging about 4 hours, which is a combination of play for 1 hour, switch off for a few, then play again. Also, bear in mind that if around the house, charging is easy, and if out then i is unlikely that you would play more than 3 hours.
Also, if you do find that you need longer, then a spare battery is the answer.
