The badaaaass P.C i built a christmas now barely scrapes midrange. Now im debating whether or not to spend 250 on a new gfx card or buy an xbox and doom3 for 150.....

I`ve been putting off buying and building my badass system till these games come close to release for that reason.

I think it`s worth the new g`card, as doom3 on the xbox has a rubish frame rate so i have heard. Also, u want a good system for Half-life 2 dont you? No HL on the xbox, well not for a very long time.

LOL! Nah, i`d never abandon my P.C but it is a little disheartening that my athlon 3000, 1gb ram system was only top of the line for 6 months. To think thats counted as `Mid spec` is rediculous. But as for H:L 2, apparently its really well optimised so almost any modern rig will play it well.
But, yeah, the x box looks pretty lame in comparison

Certain websites have a zip file (just over 2Mb) containing scans of the exclusive PC Gamer review :)
Io read somewhere that once the PC versiosn hsips, the demo will be made, so ppl will know if it works on their PC ;)
As for XBox version, the impression I get is that it`s only being flamed by hardcore PC gamers, who would rather slag off an alternative version ;) I mean I`d be annoyed if I spent £2000 on a PC to find that for £200 I could have bought an XBox plus game, which looks almost as good, and will probably play the same.
I think GamesTM magazine has said that about Farcy Instincts, i.e. the Xbox version in terms of gameplay is every bit as good as the PC verison, and graphically is almost as good.
Then again I don`t care that much, I have a PII450 and a GameCube so I won`t be playing either!

Cheers for the ZIP Admars. You`re a STAR. And TOTALLY agree with your comments about the game playing the same on XBOX. All these people rushing out to buy a graphics card just so their PC can handle the game with more FPS is CRAZY!
Where have the days gone, when people cared more about how a game PLAYED, than how it looked????????

Format bashing has happened for years though hasn`t it, I mean Speccy Vs. C64 Vs Amstrad. Nintendo Vs Sega, PC Vs. Consoles, and the consoles will always bicker amongst themselves ;)
We have this argument at work all the time, the way I look at is, when it comes to exclusives, it would be nice to own all formats and play everything, but while I`m playing exclusive to my format Game X, having fun, my mate is playing exclusive to his format Game Y, hopefully having fun!
Obvioulsy in reality Game X is better than y `cos I have it, and unlike his mine has super duper particle effect gamma ray particle nuclear shadow effect systems where his only has nitro carbon molecular light rendering mega technology ;)

Has anyone seen the new Tech G4 video? It's on fileplanet.
I for one can`t play the video, using a Mac so maybe that's the problem, but normally I can play any kind. Not sure what codec this file uses. Tried QuickTime, media player, and VLC, vlc gives sound, but no video.
Anyone else have probs? Been looking for another encoded version, cant find any.
and some other tidbits, if you are wanting this game, the news is..along with your new upgrade you will also need either Winxp or Win2k to run it!!! No go for win98! lol!
