Page 1 of Gamcube Racing Games. which is best?

I`m a big fan of racing sims, particularly F1 and rallying games. The only racing games I have tried on the gc are F1 2002 (own, but not overly impressed), and Burnout (rented - EXCELLENT game, but completed it in one day).

Having played a couple of games on my mates Xbox, I`m thinking of buying one for myself. Racing Evoluzione is an excellent game which I hope will be ported to the gc.

I know that Burnout 2 and Colin Mcrae 3 are supposed to be coming out on the gc sometime soon, but can anyone reccommend something for the meantime?(anyone got release dates for these yet?) And does anyone know if the WRC games are PS2 only, or will they make their way to gc?

Doesn`t look like Colin McCrae 3 is coming to the Gamecube now but Burnout 2 has a release date of early May...completely rewritten for the Gamecube so expect superior graphics, sound, etc. No news on WRC though

VRally 3 is shaping up nicely as well, but wont be out for a while. The Gamecube is poor when it comes to racing games. The Xbox looks spoilt for choice though.

if so there is no chance of it coming out on the cube.

I`ve borrowed Need for Speed 2 from a mate and was initially disappointed.

After giving it a second chance I cannot put it down. It`s an arcade racer rather than an F1 sim or a WRC game. What put me off at first was that coppers try and ram you off the road, detracting from the racing side of it.

Once you unlock further tracks and races this becomes less of a distraction as the coppers can`t keep up. You even get the chance to reverse roles on certain tracks where you are the copper trying to push the racers off the road. Think ChaseHQ crossed with Grand Turismo.

Massive fun but have unlocked all the tracks and nearly won all the races after only 3 or 4 hefty sessions.

I heard DAKAR 2 was supposed to be pretty awesome - and theres enough tinkering to be done improving the cars, trucks or bikes...

Get yourself a copy of Freeloader and import a copy of NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona.

Bloody excellent game, nice graphics, spot-on handling and more racing than you can shake a s***ty stick at. Not just oval circuits too.

There`s a copy of freeloader going cheap on ebay at the moment. Oooh shameless plug there.
