Page 1 of GREEN SCREEN ON MESSIAH CHIPPED PS2...HELP!

Hi. I have had a chipped playstation 2 (messiah chip) for two months and it plays all copies and proper games no problem. It also plays vcds and dvds fine too. However, recently I bought copy dvds of Two Towers and Chicago which are in ntsc format and these play in green screen. I have tried a special scart lead recommended to me by Game but this didn`t solve it. I don`t think the region x disk would because the messiah chip requires dvd copies to be directly ooted.

Yep. One thing you should realise, is that the Messiahs (1 or 2) do not remove the Macrovision from the DVD video playback. They are solely designed to allow copied media to play.

The problem you are having is that the television you are watching on, does not support NTSC playback. My PS2 played with the Macrovision green on any region, until I used a SCART lead with my Hitachi TV.
I have played back R1 DVDs perfectly, and can only assume that the lack of NTSC support might cause the problem.

I do know of people reporting that if your TV doesn`t support NTSC, the DVDs playback in black and white, so this may be related.

Finally, forget about DVD Region X or Action Replay or anything like that. They all circumvent the Messiah`s boot procedures and stop copies working. (Although a nice product called Codebreaker that comes on a CD works perfectly - look it up on Google :) )

if your tv has 2 scart sockets use socket 1 as only 1 is RGB......

You will need a RGB Scart lead......its a commom problem with ps2`s(Green Screen) With DVD`s

Is there a version of the Messiah chip that does remove Green Screen? I might be getting my PS2 chipped, and I use an RGB scart lead. My TV supports NTSC, and up to now I`ve been using the Action Replay to remove the green screen effect.

Where did you get those dvd`s from. What website co i already have Two towers
