RE: Another 50p off at CD-Wow

But surely just by ordering things from www.cd-wow.com.hk you can get them cheaper anyway ? ;)

RE: Paul McCartney : Back in the US £7.95 from Splashdvd!!!!!

If you ordered items during their "£2 off" offer week, then I expect like many people you`ll have a fair wait. They got loads of orders, so I`d be a bit lenient. They do end up delivering, and at the price, it`s well worth it!

RE: Amazon Boo Boo on iPAQ H1910 - £10.55

Do you want some kind of idea whether they`ll pay out? Check this...

Looks unlikely... get checking those credit card bills!!

RE: K-Pax, Monsters Ball & Novocane. All 3 for £5.50 (including P&P)!

I`ve never used them, but seeing as how they can`t even get the box shot for K-Pax right, I`d be dubious about using them!

Besides, aren`t the copies they sell ex-rental ?

RE: Men of Honour 74pence +p&p

I ordered one copy and was told at checkout that it would be £2.68, but got an e-mail invoice for £16.99.

I called them to advise and they said that the site was wrong and was being updated to reflect the correct price.

They didn`t offer me the DVD at 74p, they just said they would cancel the item if I didn`t want it. So I did!

So just double-check your e-mail confirmations..!

RE: Transformers Season 1 DVD. Which is better R1 or R2?

IMHO, you`re much better off with the R1 Rhino release, as the R2 Maverick version was not remastered. I bought the single first volume on R2 and then got the R1 boxset. The quality of the R1 boxset is much better, and doesn`t look like it`s been copied from some dodgy VHS copy!

It`s even got a bit on the R1 set where they compare the image quality. Given, the ad spots every few minutes can be annoying, but it just means you`re getting the whole shebang!

Also, the extras of Japanese episodes and adverts on the R1 set are just superb. I don`t think there`s a decision here...!

Check this site for a round up of the different DVDs available :

Tron 20th Anniv. 2 Disc (R2) - £8.99

Found this at Safeways in Sutton, Surrey. Can`t find it anywhere on the net as cheap as this! I`ll be buying a copy on the way home, be sure of that!

They`ve also got a lot of other 2 disc boxsets for £7.99 - £8.99, but this one caught my eye!

RE: 1 WEEK ONLY 24 season 1 at choices £24.99 free P&P!!! plus other box sets

Just a quick note : I got the notice for this offer from their newsletter, and it advises that other boxsets will be cheap, but only until 7th March, when they`ll go full price again! So get in there, while the gettings good, people!

RE: Gameboy Advance - £49 in Argos

Ha ha! So now you`re trying to talk everyone out of buying a GBA!
BTW, PSM2 is the best PS2 mag by miles!

RE: Gameboy Advance - £49 in Argos

Don`t get me wrong, I `aint having a pop at the GBA, merely trying to explain the drop in price. Although the new GBA SP does look nice, especially with the flip-up screen protecting it when not in use...!

RE: Gameboy Advance - £49 in Argos

This is a good bargain, but more than likely it`s because they`re bringing out the new GBA with a flip-up, backlit screen. The older model is going to become old hat, so they`re probably tying to shift the stock while they can!

RE: Multiregion Acoustic Solutions DVD Player - £49.95

No idea, I`m afraid. I got the offer from their e-mail newsletter, but won`t be buying one, as I use my PS2 to play them instead.

Multiregion Acoustic Solutions DVD Player - £49.95

This is the Acoustic Solutions DVD321 player, which although advertised on the site as "Region 2 Only", can be hacked to be multiregion.

Apparently, the multi-region version also sold on the site for an extra tenner is the same player and someone has gone on to the net, got the hack and unlocked it. So save yourself a tenner and go for this !

RE: Cheap Printer Deal?

Well, if you`re not bothered about black and white, http://www.dabs.com have a Samsung ML4500 laser printer for £69 inc. VAT. The Quicklinx code (type it in at the top of the screen) is N8ZWS.

They also have the toner for £40 a shot too....

RE: MOBILE PHONE OFFERS HELP NEEDED

Go and have a look at http://www.gonein24.co.uk - It`s a UK company that have mobile deals every day. At the moment, they`ve had a T100 on t_mobile freetime 750 for £40.

Give it a look and sign up to their newsletter. (I don`t work for them, they just rule).
And if it`s PCs you`re in to, check out http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly for their daily offers.

RE: GREEN SCREEN ON MESSIAH CHIPPED PS2...HELP!

Yep. One thing you should realise, is that the Messiahs (1 or 2) do not remove the Macrovision from the DVD video playback. They are solely designed to allow copied media to play.

The problem you are having is that the television you are watching on, does not support NTSC playback. My PS2 played with the Macrovision green on any region, until I used a SCART lead with my Hitachi TV.
I have played back R1 DVDs perfectly, and can only assume that the lack of NTSC support might cause the problem.

I do know of people reporting that if your TV doesn`t support NTSC, the DVDs playback in black and white, so this may be related.

Finally, forget about DVD Region X or Action Replay or anything like that. They all circumvent the Messiah`s boot procedures and stop copies working. (Although a nice product called Codebreaker that comes on a CD works perfectly - look it up on Google :) )

Hope this helps.

RE: Kodak Ultima CD-R`s 20p each (+del)

Can we have a URL please ?
Cheers!

RE: Cheap 28 inch Widescreen TVs

The Hitachi is excellent with RGB. I got it home last night and hooked up my PS2 and cable to it and it works lovely. Very clear picture with good picture adjustment functions. The screen isn`t perfectly flat, but, hell, it `aint Sony Wega and it did only cost £269.99! The sound quality is very good, but I wouldn`t expect to be blowing the roof off with it. Overall, a very good TV for the money with loads of features and a good picture!

One other point - I have a few PS2 games that run at 60hz and the TV handles them perfectly!

As for your problem, when each of the SCART sockets receives a signal from a device, the TV will automatically switch to that SCART channel. I can switch between both of mine using the `AV` button on the remote, if I have both the PS2 and cable switched on. As for the not being able to view other channels, I don`t use an aerial myself, but have you tried pressing the `TV` button to get back to your normal TV ? If neither of these work, I`d contact your local Hitachi bods...
