The hype behind this seems real and organic more than a marketing ploy, reviews are also very promising and not sure if this is the scary movie some are saying or very disturbing psychological thriller it looks on the trailer, and this brings Cage back where he belongs I hope.
MovieBob reviewed it recently and said it was worth watching:

the missus is well into horror films, and was really looking forward to this, but has recently changed her mind about going to the cinema (she won 2 free tickets ) to see it after some of the things she read about it.*
looks pretty interesting from trailer.
I might persuade her for new Aliens thought having just watched that trailer as well, probbaly more of a cinema film
*edit - just asked her, said ppl were saying it was supposed to be scariest horror film ever, but it's not, it's a pyschological thriller - good one at that apparently, but not a horror film. I guess there can be a fine line between the two, i.e. Seven, and Silence of the Lambs

I will give it a miss, I am not into horror films that give me 'flashbacks' years later. Unfortunately there are films like that which you watch and do not realise the effect on you till later.
My examples of this was 'squid games' and even worse 'the cube'
Solution now is to just avoid these sort of films where I am not sure how it will affect me later on.
can I have 1hr 40 mins of my life back please? Actually that's maybe unfair, like Mother and a few other "horror" films we watched recently, starts off good, it's interesting, then half way it goes stupid, it's just wtf please will it end, but at same time I need closure.
Cage just phones it in being a bit bonkers now and again.
